After the Griffins fell shorthanded to an 18th minute red card, Slippery Rock was able to control the pace of play. Jorde tacked on a second goal in the 78th minute on a heading ball crossed in from Spencer. In the 81st minute, Will Harrigan gave SRU a two-goal cushion, scoring similarly on a header from a Spencer cross.
