GRAND LAKE, Colo. – The Slippery Rock University women's lacrosse team was listed as one of 10 teams just outside the top 25 to receive votes in this week's Division II national poll released Monday by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA).
 
The Rock posted a 12-7 upset win over No. 18 Seton Hill Saturday that marked the first win over a top-20 opponent for SRU since 2018. The victory improved SRU to 4-2 on the year and was enough to get SRU votes in this week's national poll.
 
Slippery Rock has not been ranked since earning a No. 24 spot in the national poll in the second week of the 2019 season.
 
The Rock are one of five teams from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference to be mentioned in this week's poll. PSAC East powers West Chester (No. 5) and East Stroudsburg (No. 8) are the top ranked teams in the league. Seton Hill slipped four spots to No. 22 this week as the only team from the PSAC West to be ranked. SRU and fellow PSAC West opponent Indiana (Pa.) are listed among the others receiving votes this week. The Crimson Hawks also defeated Seton Hill last week by a 15-14 score in overtime.
 
Slippery Rock will look to carry its momentum from Saturday's upset into another victory when Edinboro visits Mihalik-Thompson Stadium Tuesday for a 4 p.m. PSAC West game.
