SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's soccer team will host Daemen College for a non-conference matchup at 3:30 p.m. Saturday James Egli Field.

LAST MEETING
Slippery Rock and Daemen last met on Sept. 5th, 2015. The Rock secured a 2-0 shutout victory over the Wildcats. While enduring several lightening delays, SRU was able to come away with the 2-0 victory with second half goals from Mike Ilodigwe and Ryan Lutke.

SCOUTING THE ROCK
LAST TIME OUT: Ramses Minaya and
Dan Schearer scored goals over the last four minutes of regulation to help The Rock force overtime in an eventual 2-2 tie against Walsh Sept. 8 at Egli Field.
UNBEATEN STREAK ON THE LINE: With a win or a tie against Daemen, Slippery Rock will start just its seventh season since 1980 (41 seasons) in which it has begun the year unbeaten in its first four matches.
CRUNCH TIME: Through three games, SRU has yet to produce a goal in the first half. All four of The Rock's goals thus far have come from the second half of play, with three of the goals coming in the 84th minute or later.
FLOAT LIKE A BUTTERFLY STING LIKE A BEE: Goalkeeper
Hossam Aly continues a strong junior campaign. In three starts he has tallied 15 saves, a .833 save percentage and a 0.87 goals against average. He currently ranks second in the PSAC West in saves and GAA, as well as second in the PSAC in saves per game and shutouts thanks to the 1-0 victory against Findlay.
ON THE ATTACK: Minaya and
Alejandro Fernandez lead The Rock in total points with three apiece on one goal and one assist each. Schearer and
Alex Plimmer have accounted for Slippery Rock's other two goals so far in 2021. Fernandez has also put a team-best four shots on goal through the opening three contests.

Harry Griffin (2) and

HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS: Since Wilhelm's inaugural season in 2018, The Rock has tallied a 4-1-3 (.667) record when hosting non-conference matches at Egli Field along with outscoring opponents 18-5 with four matches being shutouts.

SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
-Following a season-opening loss to Walsh, Daemen recorded its first win of the 2021 season with a 2-1 victory over Malone Sept. 4 to improve to 1-1. Saturday's game is the third of five straight road games for Daemen to open the year.
-The Wildcats offense is led early by Trey Buscaglia who has tallied a goal and an assist for Daemen. Goalkeeper Marcos Lerma Escobar takes charge of the Wildcats' defense having produced 11 saves, a .786 save percentage and a 1.50 GAA so far in 2021.

Slippery Rock will face non-conference opponent District of Columbia on the road 12 p.m. Wednesday. UDC is led by former Slippery Rock head coach Matt Thompson.
