Rock football announces summer camps

The Rock football program will host the "Relentless Rock Football Camp" for high school players in grades 9-12 May 23 and will host a series of "QB Development Camps" this summer for players in grades K-12.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University football program has announced it will host a football camp for individual high school players May 23 and a series of quarterback development camps for kids in grades K-12 throughout the summer.
 
The "Relentless Rock Football Camp" will kick off the summer camp series May 23 and will run from 3-7 p.m. at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium on the SRU campus. The camp is for high school boys' and girls' in grades 9-12 and will feature individual position training by the SRU coaching staff, height and weight measurements, 40-yard dash and pro shuttle testing, agility circuit training, competition drills and evaluation by the SRU coaching staff and other local college coaching staffs.
 
The cost to attend the Relentless Rock Football Camp is $45 per player if registered in advance and $55 for walk-up registrations the day of the camp.
 
In addition to the high school individual camp, Slippery Rock offensive coordinator and former Division II All-American quarterback Adam Neugebauer will lead a series of "QB Development Camps" this summer with nine dates available for attendees.
 
The QB Development Camps will be open to all boys' and girls' in grades K-12. The camps will take place from 9-11 a.m. on the following dates: June 1, June 7, June 11, June 14, June 18, June 21, July 9, July 12 and July 23.
 
Campers can expect to receiving individual QB training from experienced QB coaches, competition and drill work and precise technique coaching in a fun and energetic atmosphere.
 
Cost to attend the QB Development Camp is $50 per session. Attendees can choose to attend a single session or multiple sessions.

Campers and camp staff will be required to follow SRU, local, regional and state guidelines related to COVID-19, including masking and social distancing. More information regarding regulations will be shared with registered campers.
 
The camps at Slippery Rock will feature one of the best coaching staffs in Division II in the staff at SRU, led by 2019 NCAA Division II National Coach of the Year and Rock football head coach Shawn Lutz.
 
Lutz and The Rock football program are coming off a 2019 season that saw SRU win the PSAC and NCAA Super Region One titles and advance to the national semifinals before finishing the year with a 13-1 overall record.

Description: Individual QB training by former Division II All-American and Harlon Hill Trophy finalist Adam Neugebauer, current offensive coordinator and QB coach at SRU. Competition and drill work, precise technique coaching and a fun and energetic atmosphere.
