LAST TIME OUT
Slippery Rock closed out a doubleheader sweep of Frostburg State University with a thrilling 13-12 victory over the Bobcats in eight innings at Jack Critchfield Park on March 14 behind a game-winning hit by Abraham Mow that drove in Koby Bubash (Box Score).

STREAKING
Slippery Rock's sweep against Frostburg State pushed its winning streak to six games. If SRU were to increase its winning streak to 10 games by taking all four games from Clarion this weekend it would represent the seventh longest winning streak in program history.

HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE
Slippery Rock is an impressive 201-112 (.642) at home since Jack Critchfield Park opened in 2002.

ROCK AMONG THE TOP TEAMS IN THE PSAC
Through the first two weeks of the season, Slippery Rock finds itself ranked among the top teams in the entire Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference in virtually every offensive statistical category as well as many pitching categories.

Offensively, Slippery Rock enters the weekend leading the PSAC in doubles (30) while ranking second in batting average (.274) and total hits (82). Additionally, SRU is slotted third in total runs (62), runs per game (8.9) and home runs (9).

The Rock's pitching staff currently sports the second lowest opponent batting average in the conference at .220 in addition to ranking third in total strikeouts (80), fifth in ERA (4.15) and seventh in hits allowed per game (6.6).

HAMILTON EARNS MULTIPLE HONORS
Catcher Connor Hamilton was named both the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Athlete of the Week and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's Atlantic Region Hitter of the Week after a terrific four-game stretch last week in SRU wins against Indiana (Pa.) and Frostburg State.

In four games, Hamilton hit .733 (11-for-15) with eight runs scored, two home runs and nine RBI while slugging 1.467 with a .750 on-base percentage. Six of Hamilton's nine hits went for extra bases. Hamilton collected at least two hits in each game last week with the highlight being a 4-for-4, two-run, three-RBI, one-home run showing during SRU's 7-5 victory over IUP.

Through seven games this season, Hamilton is batting .571 (16-for-28) with 11 runs scored, two home runs and 11 RBI. He is also slugging 1.000 with a .586 on-base percentage. Across the division, Hamilton ranks second in the PSAC West in hits, third in doubles, third in batting average, fourth in RBI, fourth in slugging percentage and fifth in runs scored.

MOW BLASTS CAREER HOME RUN #19
In addition to his aforementioned game-winning hit against Frostburg State, Mow also hit the 19th home run of his Slippery Rock career last week. The drive moved him into a tie with Frankie Jezioro (2016-19) for 10th place on The Rock's all-time home run ledger.

Mow has served as The Rock's leadoff hitter in all seven games this season. He is currently batting .333 (9-for-27) with nine runs scored, two home runs and nine doubles. In addition to his two home runs, Mow has also belted four doubles.

His next homer will move him into a tie with Mike Sikorski (2000-03) for ninth place.

PLENTY OF HITTING STREAKS TO GO AROUND
The trio of Hamilton, Mow and Alex Robenolt are all in the midst of impressive hitting streaks for The Rock.

Hamilton hit safely in all four games last week and in the process stretched his hitting streak to 15 games dating back to last year. The streak is tied with Mitchell Wood (2018) and Joe Campagna (2019) for the sixth longest stretch of games with a hit at The Rock in the last 13 seasons.

Meanwhile, Robenolt has registered hits in all seven games this season while Mow has posted hits in The Rock's last six games.

Robenolt, SRU's cleanup hitter, is in the early stages of what looks to be a breakout year for the third-year outfielder. In seven games this season, he is batting .478 with a .500 on-base percentage, five runs scored, 10 RBI and one stolen base. Robenolt's six doubles are tied for most in the PSAC.

KOZARIAN'S BLISTERING START
No Rock player has gotten off to a better start in 2021 than second baseman Jon Kozarian. Kozarian, who has started 60 consecutive games, leads the PSAC West in batting average (.591), on-base percentage (.655) and runs scored (14) all the while providing SRU with two home runs, five RBI, one stolen base and a team-high five walks.

ROCK SOLID ROTATION
Slippery Rock has used four starting pitchers in its seven games this year and more often than not, the quartet of Luke Trueman (1-0, 1.80 ERA), Ricky Mineo (2-0, 2.45 ERA), Christian Seelhorst (1-0, 2.70 ERA) and Andrew Shivak (0-0, 3.68 ERA) has put SRU in a position to win as Rock starting pitchers have exited with SRU leading in six of the team's seven games this season.

MINEO CONTINUES TO RACK UP Ks
Mineo recorded a double-digit strikeout total for a second consecutive start after fanning 10 Frostburg State batters over five innings on the way to an 8-5 SRU win, which also marked Mineo's second victory of the season, on March 14.

Mineo joins Alex Pantuso (2018) and Scott Dunn (2009) as the only three Slippery Rock pitchers to have compiled 10 or more strikeouts in back-to-back games over the last 13 seasons.

TRUEMAN CONTINUES TO IMPRESS
Trueman followed up on his victory against West Virginia State by turning in another standout performance on the mound for The Rock in a 7-5 victory against IUP on March 12. Trueman went five innings, scattering two runs on four hits while tallying a career-high seven strikeouts.

In two starts this season, Trueman has limited Rock opponents to a .122 batting average against, the fourth lowest average among PSAC pitchers.

START #1 IN THE BOOKS FOR SEELHORST
After beginning his career by appearing in 14 games (11 at Seton Hill and 3 at The Rock) as a reliever, Seelhorst made his first collegiate start March 12 in a 9-2 victory against IUP. Seelhorst turned in a dominant performance, going 4.2 innings and giving up just two runs while pocketing 11 strikeouts. Despite pitching only the fifth most innings this season (6.2), Seelhorst ranks second on the team in strikeouts at 17.

SHIVAK LIMITS FSU TO 1
Shivak was able to navigate around five walks to hold Frostburg State to just one run in 4.1 innings of work in SRU's one-run victory against Frostburg State on March 14. The outing also saw Shivak strikeout six Bobcat batters.

McCLYMONDS' BUSY WEEKEND
Andy McClymonds (1-0, 5.14 ERA) appeared out of the bullpen in three of The Rock's four games last week. In all, he earned a win and a save while pitching six total innings and giving up three runs, only two of which were earned, while striking out 11 batters. McClymonds is yet to walk a batter in seven innings this season.

MORRIS WITH A GREAT FIRST IMPRESSION
Eddie Morris made the most of his first game played at The Rock. Earning the start as SRU's designated hitter in The Rock's 13-12 win versus Frostburg State, Morris collected a double and home run while scoring twice and driving in two runs in his collegiate debut.

ROUNDING OUT THE ROCK'S OFFENSE
Colin Cain and Quentin Brown have been integral cogs in The Rock's lineup this season. In six starts Cain is batting .389 with five runs, one home run and five RBI while Brown has drove in eight runs to go with a .360 batting average, four runs scored, four doubles and a stolen base. In four games against Clarion all-time, Cain is 5-for-11 (.455) with one home run and five RBI.

In addition to his exploits on the mound, Trueman is also coming into form at the plate. After going 0-for-7 to start the year, Trueman has bounced back in his last two games played by combining to go 4-for-7 with three runs, one home run and two RBI in a pair of Rock victories.

Bubash also broke out of a slump in The Rock's extra-inning victory against Frostburg State via a 2-for-4 day at the plate that included a walk, a double and scoring the game-winning run.
