SLIPPERY ROCK Pa. - The Slippery Rock University men's soccer team will host No. 17 Gannon University for its second Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division contest at James Egli Field 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

SCOUTING THE ROCK
LAST TIME OUT: SRU collected its second consecutive win, and first PSAC West victory, in a 3-1 contest at home over California University (Pa.).

HOMESTAND: Since Wilhelm's inaugural season in 2018, The Rock has tallied an 8-4-0 (.556) record when hosting conference matches at Egli Field along with outscoring opponents 18-13 with five matches being shutouts.
"MO"VING UP: With his game-winning goal against the Vulcans, Kanani moves to the front of the offensive attack with a team-high three goals on the season. Kanani also collected his second game-winner of 2021 placing him third in the PSAC West in game-winning goals.
ON THE ATTACK: Eight different SRU players have accounted for its 13 goals this season. Kanani (3) leads the way followed by Plimmer,
Alejandro Fernandez and Ramses Minya all with two goals.
Rounding out the attack is Pla Hernandis,
Luke Gildea,
Joey Moeller and
Dan Schearer all having netted one goal apiece. Fernandez,
Anthony Gagliardi II and
Brian McCarthy have all played a hand facilitating with three assists each.
KEEPER COUNT: Aly ranks third in the PSAC in save percentage at .795 having produced 31 saves, allowing eight goals and holding a 0.979 goals against average.
MULTI-POINT SCORERS: With his goal and assist against Cal U, Pla Hernandis becomes just the second Rock player this season to have scored multiple points in a single match accompanied by Fernandez (1 goal and 1 assist vs. UDC).
PSAC WEST RANKINGS: Among the conference, The Rock holds claims the second spot in opponent scoring average (1.25) while landing third in goals for (13) as well as goals against (9).
AGAINST RANKED TEAMS: The last time SRU faced a ranked opponent was in a 1-1 draw against No. 25 Lake Erie on Sept. 2, 2021 in its season opener. The Rock has not defeated a ranked team since Nov. 8, 2015 when it downed No. 21 Millersville in the PSAC Tournament Championship.
AGAINST GANNON: In previous matchups with the Golden Knights, McCarthy has been able to collect an assist. In 40 minutes, goalkeeper
Derek Hoffman made 4 saves while allowing a single goal.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN KNIGHTS
Last time out: Sergio Del Castillo collected a pair of goals to secure a 2-1 Gannon win over Cal U on the road Oct. 2.
The Gannon offense is led by Tinashe Katsande (8 goals, 1 assist) as well as Del Castillo and Furkan Yildirim with three goals each. Katsande leads the PSAC in goals and points (17).
Goalkeeper Maximiliano Rocco has collected 31 saves with a .838 save percentage and a 0.91 GAA. He currently ranks second in the PSAC in save percentage and third in GAA.
