AUGUST 17 - ALL NCAA DII CONFERENCE SUSPEND FALL SPORTS
All NCAA Division II conferences have made the decision to suspend fall sports after the NCAA canceled its fall Division II championships.
AUGUST 17 - ATHLETIC FACILITIES REMAIN CLOSED
As of August 17, the SRU athletic facilities remain closed to student-athletes, coaches and the public.
AUGUST 17 - ALL ATHLETICS TRYOUTS SUSPENDED TO SPRING
All scheduled tryouts during the fall semester for SRU's intercollegiate athletic teams have been suspended and will be rescheduled for the spring. More information will be available at a later date.
JULY 15 - PSAC SUSPENDS ALL COMPETITION THROUGH DEC. 31
The PSAC announced on July 15 that all 2020 fall sports and 2020-21 winter sports scheduled to start before Jan. 1 would be suspended. There will be no athletics competitions at Slippery Rock until at least January of 2021. Read more

SPRING SEMESTER ANNOUNCEMENTS MADE IN MARCH
MARCH - REMAINDER OF SPRING SPORTS SEASONS CANCELED
In conjunction with an announcement made by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference regarding the response to COVID-19, Slippery Rock University has announced that all athletic competitions for the remainder of the spring semester have been canceled.
MARCH - SLIPPERY ROCK ATHLETICS STATEMENT
"We support the PSAC Board of Directors' decision as we understand it was made to protect the health and safety of our student-athletes, coaches and campus communities," said director of athletics
Paul Lueken. "We are heartbroken for our spring student-athletes, especially the seniors, that saw their seasons and in some cases careers end very abruptly and completely out of their control. We will do everything we can to provide support for our student-athletes during this difficult time."

MARCH - SPRING SPORTS ELIGIBILITY NOT IMPACTED
The NCAA announced that all spring sports students that were eligible to compete this spring and had seasons canceled by COVID-19 will be granted another season of eligibility. SRU will work with each of its athletes to ensure those wishing to use that extra season will be supported through the process.Â
