IN HIS WORDS

Q: What’s the first concert you went to?
A: The HORDE festival in Stowe, Vermont was my first concerst. The Allman Brothers were the headliners. I wasn’t into them at the time but they were amazing.

Q: What was your first job growing up?
A: I was a caddy. It was a great job and I got to meet a lot of interesting people and some very good, and bad golfers.

Q: What was the last book you read? Thoughts on it?
A: Meathead. It's basically a cookbook for a smoker. What makes it interesting is Meathead Goldwyn explains the science of smoking so you understand what you are doing.

Q: What’s your all-time favorite movie?
A: Star Wars. I was exactly the right age to be completely blown away by it and follow the series.

Q: What meal/dish/item are you best at cooking?
A: Pastrami. I have a smoker and do a lot of meals on that, but I have gotten really good at making pastrami.

Q: What was your first car? What’s your dream car?
A: My first car was a Subaru, drove that thing until it died. Dream car would be a Rolls Royce. My son got a chance to take one to his senior prom so I got a chance to ride in one. They are amazing. The attention to detail and luxury are incredible. Although, on an athletic trainers' salary I’ll never be able to afford one. They cost more than my house.

Q: What artists and/or songs on your current most-listened to playlist?
A: Phish and Grateful Dead would be the top two. Widespread Panic and Tedeschi Trucks Band are also there a lot.

Q: What’s your favorite season/type of weather? Why?
A: Fall. The weather is great, dry, warm but not hot.

Q: What was your favorite or most memorable vacation?
A: I’ve been lucky and had a lot but the trip to Costa Rica with the women’s soccer team was great. I’m terrified by heights but went ziplining because you have to in Costa Rica. I was scared but it was great. Jamaica was another great vacation. I was there for Thanksgiving and it was really cool.

Q: How do you relax?
A: Golf and hanging with my family. They golf also so a lot of the time it’s a combination of the two.

Q: Tell us about your family.
A: I have been married for 23 years. My wife and I met in college. I have a son and a daughter. Both great kids. We have a lot of fun hanging out together. My son was Valedictorian of his high school. We have two dogs, a 10-month-old labradoodle and an 11-year-old Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix that we inherited from my dad.

Q: Where is one place you haven’t visited yet, but you definitely plan to?
A: Ireland. My family roots are there and I’d love to go see where they are from.

Q: Can you sing?
A: Not really. Although when I was a kid I really could. I was in a choir and our biggest claim to fame was we were on TV in China. I stopped singing when I was a teenager. I was more interested in sports at that point, much to the chagrin of my family, who all are musicians.

Q: Cats or dogs?
A: Dogs.

Q: Is a hot dog a sandwich?
A: No.

Q: Sheetz or WaWa? Why?
A: Wawa. Not just because I am from Philly. It's just better.

Q: What’s one game show or reality show you could go on that you think you could win?
A: Jeopardy. I have a lot of useless knowledge.
