Abdallah Bangura goal at the 17:44 mark off a free kick by
George Oakley to tie the score at one apiece.
Cory Olix added to the SRU lead in the 38th minute when he netted a pass from
Hayden Seifert for his first goal of 2018, stretching the Slippery Rock lead to 2-1.

LAST TIME OUT – The Rock defeated the University of the District of Columbia, 4-0 at home. Bangura scored his team leading third and fourth goals at the 11:49 and 79:35 mark respectively while
Ramses Minaya and
Nick Sodini added goals in the 43rd and 63rd minute.

DEFEND YOUR DIRT – With wins over Shepherd University and the District of Columbia, Slippery Rock has won each of its first two home games to start the season. The last time SRU won the first two home games to open the season was in 2015.Â

BANGURA STAYS HOT – Bangura has been a force on offense this season, recording his second multi-goal performance of the season against UDC. The sophomore's two goal and one assist performance earned Bangura PSAC Western Division Athlete of the Week.

KEEPER COUNT – Hunsberger recorded his second shutout of 2019 in the 4-0 victory over the District of Columbia, earning the senior PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week honors. Hunsberger recorded eight saves against UDC, increasing his season total to 16 saves along with a .727 save percentage and a 1.31 goals against average.

MINAYA MAKES GOOD – Minaya has been a solid contributor off the bench for Slippery Rock through the first five games of 2019. The freshman forward ranks second on the team in goals (2), points (5) and is tied for second in shot on goal percentage (.667).

Sept. 25, 2010 – The Rock secures a 4-1 victory over Shippensburg at home on the back of a hat trick by Kenneth Fultz. Fultz led the way for The Rock offense with seven shots, three being on goal.

Sept. 30, 2015 – Slippery Rock records a 2-1 upset victory over No. 25 Notre Dame (Ohio) at home. The Rock got on the board when Mike Ilodigwe scored his third goal of 2015 in the 44th minute.

SCOUTING THE BALD EAGLES

Last time out: Lock Haven fell 1-0 in overtime on the road to West Chester. The Ram defense stifled the LHU offense who recorded only two shots in the contest, one being on goal.

West Chester secured the 1-0 victory when Shane Hartey scored his first goal of 2019 in the 107th minute, unassisted.

Lock Haven goalkeeper Camden Cook recorded six saves in 110 minutes, while Shane Colegrove recorded the lone shot on goal for the Bald Eagles.
