LAST MEETING
Slippery Rock lost against Ashland, 2-0, at James Egli Field last season on Sept. 20, 2017. The Rock outshot the Eagles 16-15 and tied them in shots on goal, 6-6, but were unable to push across a score. George Oakley managed three shots on goal in the contest.
 
SERIES HISTORY
AU leads SRU in the all-time series, 9-1-1. Slippery Rock's only win against Ashland was back in 2010 when The Rock defeated the Eagles, 2-1.

SCOUTING THE ROCK
• LAST TIME OUT – Slippery Rock recorded its first win of the season Tuesday afternoon when it defeated Salem, 2-0. Oakley and Justin Minda recorded goals for SRU while Matt Hunsberger made three saves in the shutout victory.
 
• ON THE OFFENSIVE – The Rock fired 20 total shots and nine of them were on goal. It's their second highest shot total since Oct. 4, 2014 when it fired 27 shots. It's the second consecutive game that SRU has tallied more than 15 shots.
 
• LOSING STREAK, SNAPPED – Tuesday's win snapped a two-game losing streak to start the season for The Rock and a three-game skid dating back to 2017.
 
• SHUT 'EM OUT – The Rock's 2-0 shut out victory Tuesday was its first shutout since Oct. 15, 2017 when it blanked California (Pa.), 4-0.  
 
• THE LEADERS – Slippery Rock is led by Oakley, Minda and Hayden Seifert thus far in 2018. The trio has managed one goal apiece. Alexander Vilchek and Tyler Ramer both have one assist on the year.
 
• MILESTONE FOR HUNSBERGER – Hunsberger has started every minute in goal for The Rock this season, and has 10 saves on 37 shots faced with a 1.00 goals against average and a .769 save percentage. His shutout Tuesday was the first of his career.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
•  Ashland is 0-2-0 to begin the season losing against Lake Erie, 5-3, and against Ohio Dominican, 1-0. AU's last win was Oct. 17, 2017 at Findlay.
 
• The only offense the Eagles have mustered thus far came from Justin Libertowski. The sophomore forward has three goals this season which all occurred in AU's first game against LEC.
 
• Goalkeeper Nick Costa has played every minute in goal for Ashland surrendering six goals on 14 shots faced. He has a 3.00 goals against average and a .700 save percentage.
