ERIE, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's outdoor track and field team recorded 21 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks, one NCAA provisional mark and won 10 events at the Penn State Behrend Invitational Saturday.

The highlight of the meet came from
Elaina Powell with a victory in the javelin with an NCAA provisional mark of 44.83 meters, which ranked 13th in the nation among Division II throwers as of Saturday evening.
Rachel Demaria placed second in the javelin at 37.95 meters to lead SRU to a sweep of the top two places in all four throwing events. Demaria was also third in the shot put with a toss of 12.18 meters.

Anna Frengel won the shot put with a throw of 12.98 meters and the discus with a mark of 36.46 meters. She also hit the PSAC mark in the hammer with a third place finish and a mark of 42.22 meters.
Kelci Yale won the hammer with a mark of 45.79 meters and was second in the shot put with a toss of 12.59 meters.
Abby Way hit PSAC marks in three different events, placing second in the discus at 36.45 meters, second in the hammer at 42.71 meters and fifth in the shot put at 11.56 meters. The 12th and final PSAC mark in the throws came from
Kati Palski with a fourth place finish in the hammer with a mark of 40.62 meters.

The Rock won five events on the track, headlined by
Vanessa Shedlock's victory in the 400-meter dash in a time of 57.17 seconds, which is the third best in the PSAC this season.
Aerial Dukes also hit the PSAC mark in the 400m with a second place showing in 59.39 seconds.

Emily Horstman won the 100-meter dash in 12.32 seconds and
Megan Stephenson followed in second place in 12.47 seconds.
Reagan Hess took top honors in the 200-meter dash in 25.30 seconds and
Amanda Oliver was second in 25.70 seconds. Those four also combined to win the 4x100-meter relay in 41.76 seconds.

Sophie Mazza won the 100-meter hurdles in 15.30 seconds and
Katie Teed was runner-up in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:05.92 to cap the top performances from the hurdlers.

The final PSAC mark of the day belonged to
Kaylee Young with a victory in the triple jump with a leap of 10.78 meters.

Slippery Rock will now turn its focus to next weekend's Ashland Alumni Invitational Friday and Saturday at Ashland University.
