MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Slippery Rock University women's outdoor track and field team recorded nine Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks at the Coastal Carolina Invitational that wrapped up Saturday in Myrtle Beach.
 
This weekend's meet marked the beginning of the outdoor season for The Rock, just two weeks after the PSAC Indoor Championships.
 
Seven of the nine PSAC marks recorded on the opening weekend came on the track.
 
Reagan Hess and Amanda Oliver both hit the PSAC standard in the 100-meter dash and Aerial Dukes hit the mark in the 400-meter dash to lead the sprinters. Hess was fourth in the 100m in 12.20 seconds, followed by Oliver in 14th in 12.63 seconds. Dukes was eighth in the 400m in 59.81 seconds.
 
Hess and Oliver then teamed with Madison Przicina and Alexis Marchando to place second in the 4x400-meter realy in 4:05.47.
 
Przicina joined Caitlyn Janeda in reaching the PSAC mark in the 1,500-meter run. Janeda was fifth in 4:50.09, while Przicina followed in 12th in 4:58.34.
 
The other two PSAC marks on the track came in the hurdles. Hali Olson was fourth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:07.65 and Sophie Mazza was seventh in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.02 seconds.
 
The final two PSAC marks from the first weekend came in the shot put, where Anna Frengel led the way with a fourth place finish and a throw of 12.45 meters. Kelci Yale was seventh with a mark of 11.82 meters.
 
Slippery Rock will remain in Myrtle Beach this week and will compete in the Shamrock Invitational next Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
