SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's soccer team returns home to James Egli Field 4 p.m. Wednesday to host No. 17 Gannon University in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference contest.

LAST MEETING
Mike Pcholinsky netted his first goal of the year in the 116th minute to give The Rock a 1-0 win over Gannon in double overtime on Oct. 7, 2015 in Erie, Pennsylvania. Peter Boylan assisted on the goal and Kyle Hoffer stopped three Gannon shots to preserve the shutout.

SCOUTING THE ROCK
Last Time Out: Kenton Keeslar scored a goal on a George Oakley assist in the 88th minute to force overtime in an eventual 1-1 tie Oct. 1 at Bloomsburg. The match was stopped with three minutes remaining in opening overtime period due to lightning.
 
• Slippery Rock's last win over a team ranked in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's top 25 poll came a year ago when SRU defeated No. 21 Millersville, 2-1, in the PSAC Tournament championship game. Overall, Slippery Rock is 2-1 in its last three games against teams ranked in the national top 25 poll.
 
• Wednesday's match starts a string of five home matches in the next six games for The Rock. Strong performances at home will be vital if SRU is to put itself in position to qualify for the PSAC Tournament. Slippery Rock is 24-15-4 (.605) in home games over the last four years.
 
• Slippery Rock has allowed just 11 goals this season, the third fewest in the PSAC and the fifth fewest in the Atlantic Region.
 
• Goalkeeper Jonathan Sharp has started seven matches and is 2-4-1 with 28 saves, a .778 save percentage and a 1.21 goals against average. Backup Steven Rerick is 0-1-1 with 13 saves, a .812 save percentage and a 1.13 goals against average.
 
• Sharp enters the Gannon match ranked third in the PSAC in both save percentage and goals against average. Sharp made a career-high seven saves against Bloomsburg and has allowed more than one goal in a game just once this season.
 
• Keeslar's goal against the Huskies was his first of the season and second of his career; he scored his first collegiate goal as a freshman a year ago against Lock haven. He is the fifth Rock player to score a goal this season.
 
Jacob Thiel leads The Rock with two goals while Nick Sodini, Justin Minda, Ethan Augustin and Keeslar all tallying one goal each.
 
• Pcholinsky leads Slippery Rock in assists with two. Oakley, Anthony Werth, Minda and Sodini have all set up one Rock goal apiece this year and are tied for second on the team in assists.
 
• Pcholinsky has four shots and one goal in three games against Gannon in his career. Josh Allman has one assist against the Golden Knights while Patrick Sullivan has two shots with Arran Robertson and Kyle Boyer rounding out SRU's top performers against Gannon with one shot each.

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN KNIGHTS
Last Time Out: Gannon defeated Shippensburg 2-1 on Oct. 1 at home. Shippensburg scored the game's first goal in the 70th minute, but Gannon rallied with two late goals by Hamza Mourchid.
 
• With seven wins, Gannon has already matched its highest win total for a season dating back to 2013. Gannon has improved its spot in the NSCAA's top 25 poll in each of the last three weeks; going from 25th to 19th to 17th this week. 

• Mourchid leads the PSAC in both goals (15) and total points (33). Mathias Krigbaum has supplemented Mourchid's offense with five goals and a team-best four assists. His four assists rank second in the PSAC. 
 
• Jorge Hernandez is Gannon's primary goalkeeper. He has started eight games and is 6-1-1 with one shutout, 18 saves, a .643 save percentage and a 1.20 goals against average.
 
• Gannon leads The PSAC in scoring with 28 total goals and ranks fourth in the conference in goals allowed at 13.
