SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. –The Slippery Rock University men's soccer team concludes the regular season with a pair of road matches this weekend at East Stroudsburg and West Chester with a spot in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Tournament on the line.

Slippery Rock plays East Stroudsburg on Friday at 3:30 p.m. before meeting West Chester less than 24 hours later at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Records and Standings: Entering the final weekend of regular season competition there are still seven teams mathematically alive for four spots in next week's PSAC Tournament.

Mercyhurst and Bloomsburg have already secured spots in the tournament while Slippery Rock, West Chester, Seton Hill, Gannon, Milelrsville California and Lock Haven are all still in the running for postseason play.

There are a multitude of scenarios that could play out that would could either eliminate or push Slippery Rock into the conference tournament, but the safest bet for SRU would be to defeat East Stroudsburg and West Chester. A pair of wins and Slippery Rock would definitely clinch a berth into the PSAC Tournament.

East Stroudsburg broke a five-game losing streak with a 2-1 victory at Pitt-Johnstown thanks to second half goals by Austin Bogart and Drew Damico (

West Chester dropped a 2-1 double overtime decision at Seton Hill when Joe Tchimou converted a penalty kick at 106:52 (

Scouting Slippery Rock: Led by the trio of
Stephen Donnelly (nine goals),
Dom Francis (seven goals) and
Peter Boylan (seven goals), Slippery Rock's offense ranks third in the PSAC, and 34
th in the nation, in goals per game at 2.20.

Slippery Rock has not had three players score more than seven goals in a season since 1999.

In addition to his team-high in goals, Donnelly also leads The Rock with seven assists and 25 points. Donnelly's season totals are already career-highs in all three categories.

Mike Ilodigwe and
Matt Sangermano are SRU's two other multi-goal scorers at five and three, respectively.

Peter Boylan and
Ryan Boylan are the only Rock players to have started all 15 games this season.

Steven Rerick has started 13 games in his first season as Slippery Rock's starting goalkeeper. In 1154:26 minutes of play, Rerick is 7-6 with a 2.03 Goals Against Average (GAA), 61 saves (.701) and two shutouts.

SRU is just one win shy of recording its sixth 10-win season in the last seven years. Dating back to 2004, Slippery Rock has produced nine winning seasons.

Scouting East Stroudsburg: Jonathan Stuppe, who has an ESU-best 10 points off of four goals and two assists, has paced The Warriors on offense this season. Bogart and Andrew McGinley have each chipped in three goals while Christian Bukowski has set up the Warrior attack with four assists.

In 12 games played, J.B. Pahls is 4-7-1 with a 2.29 GAA, 54 saves (.675) and one shutout. Adam Alton has also started four games for East Stroudsburg, going 1-3 with a 3.04 GAA and 32 saves (.681).

Scouting West Chester: Tommy Ryan is West Cheser's leader in goals (six) points (15) and shots on goal (10) while also ranking second in assists (three). Alex Caplan is the Rams' second leading attacker this year with four goals. Also supplementing WCU's offensive attack with three goals each has been Alex Lean and Miguel Ross.

Goalkeeper Matt Palmer is West Chester's primary goalkeeper. To date he is 7-4 in 12 starts with a 1.15 GAA, 58 saves (.817) and three shutouts.

Head Coaches: Andy Hoggarth became the 11th head coach in Slippery Rock history on May 30, 2014 after serving as an assistant coach with the women's soccer team at the University of Akron in 2013. Prior to that appointment, he served as the head coach of both the men's and women's soccer teams at nearby Thiel College for six seasons from 2007-12.

In addition to his women's soccer head coaching duties, Rob Berkowitz is in his fourth season as the East Stroudsburg men's coach. He began the 2014 season with a men's coaching record of 10-33-8.

Michael Benn enters his second season with West Chester University's men's soccer program. He was named the University's men's soccer head coach in July 2013. In his first season on South Campus, Benn was selected as the PSAC Coach of the Year and the NSCAA Atlantic Region Coach of the Year. He led the squad to a 13-win season for the first time since 2006 and delivered the Golden Rams their first winning season since 2008.

Series History: East Stroudsburg is 19-6-1 against Slippery Rock. However, SRU is 4-1-1 against East Stroudsburg dating back to the 2008 season.

West Chester owns a narrow 11-9 lead over The Rock in the all-time series. Since the 2009 season, Slippery Rock owns a 5-1-1 advantage over the Rams.
