SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's soccer team will host two of the top teams in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference this weekend starting with Bloomsburg at 3:30 p.m. Friday followed by Lock Haven on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. Both games will be played on the turf of Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.

Last Time Out: Peter Boylan scored two goals as Slippery Rock cruised to a 5-2 win at Cedarville. The five goals were the most scored against Cedarville in its last 44 games (

Records: Slippery Rock enters Friday's game at 7-4-0 overall and ranked fourth in the PSAC standings with a conference record of 3-2-0. Bloomsburg (6-4-2, 4-2-0 PSAC) and Lock Haven (5-5-1, 4-1-0 PSAC) sit just three points above SRU in the standings with four conference wins apiece. Lock Haven plays at California (Pa.) Friday.

Coins for Cancer: Saturday is Slippery Rock's annual Coins for Cancer game. Rock soccer asks that those in attendance put their spare change into one of the containers located throughout the home bleachers for breast cancer research. All donations will go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Senior Day: Prior to the start of the Lock Haven contest Saturday, The Rock's senior class of
Josh Brake,
Brandon Chiu,
Stephen Donnelly,
Dom Francis,
Anthony Jack and
Ryan Van Dorick will be honored for their many contributions to the program.

Senior Facts: It takes just a quick glance at SRU's season statistics to see how important the 2014 senior class is to The Rock. The group accounts for 39 percent of the team's goals, 53 percent of its assists and a total of 56 games started in 2014. Donnelly and Francis both have five goals with Donnelly also passing out seven assists. Chiu and Brake have combined for three assists while Jack and Van Dorick have helped a defensive effort in which SRU has held opponents to one goal or less on six occasions. Donnelly already ranks 18th in Rock history in career points. Over the last four years, Slippery Rock is 38-20-11 with one NCAA Tournament appearance and one PSAC Championship.Â

Scouting Slippery Rock: Donnelly leads the PSAC, and ranks 14th in the nation, in assists with six. Donnelly has also tallied a team-best total of 17 points. Boylan is The Rock's leader in goals off of a career-high six scores in 2014 while Francis and
Mike Ilodigwe are tied with Donnelly for second place at SRU in goals scored with five each.
Steven Rerick and
Kyle Hoffer have been the goalies of record for The Rock. Rerick is 5-4 with a 1.81 goals against average (GAA) and 43 saves. Hoffer is 2-0 with a 1.50 GAA and five saves. Slippery Rock ranks third in the PSAC and 23rd nationally in goals per game at 2.36.

Scouting Bloomsburg: The Huskies are outscoring their opponents 15-4 in the first half of games this season. Anthony Cerda and Spencer Conrad are tied for the Bloomsburg lead in both points (nine) and goals scored (four). Goalkeeper Jared Ott is 6-3-1 on the year with four shutouts, 32 saves (.780) and a 0.98 GAA.

Scouting Lock Haven: Three different players have scored multiple goals for the Lock Haven this season with Amspacher leading the way at six goals followed by Jacob Oldaker with four and Jesse Smit with two. Oldaker also has a team-high three assists. Jonathan Howitt has started 10 games at goal for Lock Haven and is 3-3-1 with 26 saves. 12 of LHU's 18 goals have come in second half.

Head Coaches: Andy Hoggarth became the 11th head coach in Slippery Rock history on May 30, 2014 after serving as an assistant coach with the women's soccer team at the University of Akron in 2013. Prior to that appointment, he served as the head coach of both the men's and women's soccer teams at nearby Thiel College for six seasons from 2007-12.

Now in his 19
th season as a collegiate head coach, Paul Payne has a career coaching record of 151-173-32. He is 112-138-27 at Bloomsburg.

Doug Moore is in his 13
th season in charge of the Lock Haven program. Since joining the Bald Eagles, Moore has put together a 121-92-90 record.

Series History: Slippery Rock and Lock Haven have split 63 matches all-time with both schools winning 29 games and tying five times.

Slippery Rock holds a commanding 13-6-3 lead over the Huskies in the all-time series. SRU is 1-1-1 in its last three games against Bloomsburg.
