INDIANA, Pa. -- The 2012-13 Slippery Rock University women's tennis season came to a close Saturday afternoon when the Green and White lost a 5-2 decision to West Virginia State University in opening-round action of the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional tournament hosted by Indiana U. of Pa.
The loss gave SRU a final dual-match record of 12-9. The Rock were the sixth seed in the tournament.
WVSU, the No. 3 seed in the tournament and No. 47 team in the nation, improved its season record to 18-8 and advanced to Sunday's regional-final match vs. 44th-ranked and second-seeded Indiana (Pa.) on IUP's home courts.

Lauren Coggins led The Rock effort as she had a hand in both Rock points.
Coggins teamed with senior
Janelle Krantz to win an 8-5 decision in the No. 2 doubles match and won the No. 5 singles match by a 6-1, 6-3 score.
Krantz, who earlier in the season became the eighth Rock player to record 100 or more career victories, was one of two Rock seniors who played their final collegiate match Saturday.
Elisabeth Yetiskul also concluder her career.
Saturday's match marked the seventh consecutive season in which The Rock participated in NCAA postseason competition.
