HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The Slippery Rock University women's tennis team completed a clean sweep of its spring-break matches with a 9-0 win Friday over Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference and NCAA Division II rival Millersville University.
The win was The Rock's seventh consecutive and improved their season record to 7-4.
Millersville saw its season record drop to 3-5.
Highlighting The Rock effort Friday were an 8-0 victory by the No. 3 doubles team of junior
Samantha Bruggeman and freshman
Courtney Gallagher and Gallagher's “double-bagel,” (6-0, 6-0) win in the No. 6 singles match.
Other highlights for The Rock included a 6-1, 6-0 win by senior
Janelle Krantz in the No. 4 singles match and a 6-0, 6-1 win by junior
Lauren Coggins in the No. 5 singles match.
The Rock's next match is scheduled for Tuesday, when they will host PSAC-West rival Clarion University in a 3:30 p.m. match.
