HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The Slippery Rock University women's tennis team beat Kutztown University, 6-3, Wednesday afternoon to continue its spring break matches. The win was The Rock's fifth consecutive win overall and improved their season record to 5-4. Kutztown, which is an NCAA Division II Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference rival of The Rock, saw its season record drop to 1-3. The Rock pulled together a victory after having some difficulty throughout the match.
Sarah Joumond earned her second consecutive collegiate victory at No. 1 singles.
Samantha Bruggeman left her No. 6 singles match early, due to an injury. She is expected to be recover quickly.
The Rock continue their spring break schedule Thursday with an 8 a.m. match vs. Bloomsburg University in Hilton Head Island.
