LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The 15th ranked Slippery Rock men's soccer team (9-1-1, 4-1) defeated Lock Haven (4-7, 2-4) 3-1 Saturday night in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action, extending The Rock's win-streak to six games.
Stephen Donnelly opened the scoring in the 10th minute, finding the back of the net on a free kick from 20 yards for his fifth goal of the season to give Slippery Rock an early 1-0 advantage.
Lock Haven had a flurry of scoring chances in the 30th minute, but Rock goalkeeper
Chris Zier denied three consecutive shots from the hosts to preserve the Slippery Rock lead into the break.

Declan Brennan, who beat the Lock Haven keeper with a header to push the lead to 2-0 in the 71st minute.
The Rock tacked on another goal in the 79th minute, this time on a header from
Michael Ramirez off a throw-in by
Joshua Gray to give Slippery Rock a 3-0 advantage.
Troy Amspacher buried a penalty kick goal in the 85th minute after being fouled in the box by a Rock defender, cutting the deficit to 3-1 and spoiling Slippery Rock's hopes of a shutout.
Zier picked up the win after making four saves and allowing just one goal.
Slippery Rock held advantages of 12-8 in total shots and 7-5 in shots on goal, but was edged 5-0 in corner kicks.
With the win, Slippery Rock improves to 9-1-1 on the season and 4-1 in PSAC play.
No. 15 Slippery Rock returns to PSAC action Wednesday, Oct. 16 at Gannon. Game time is set for 4 p.m. in Erie, Pa.
