Philippi, W. Va. – The Slippery Rock University men's soccer team remained unbeaten with a 4-0 non-conference win on the road at Alderson-Broaddus Saturday afternoon.

With the win, Slippery Rock improves to 2-0-2 overall on the year. Alderson-Broaddus drops to 1-3 overall.

The Rock was dominant in the match, holding the Battlers to just four total shot attempts and no shots on goal. Slippery Rock finished the game with a 16-4 advantage in shots.

The four goals all came from different scorers Saturday, with Brandon Chiu, Max Aronica, Thad Madzelonka and Stephen Donnelly all finding the back of the net. Aronica and Zach Hall also picked up assists to cap the scoring.

Clayton Master earned the shutout in goal despite being credited with no saves.

Chiu opened the game's scoring in the seventh minute when he finished a perfect pass from Hall to make it 1-0 Slippery Rock, a margin that would stand for the remainder of the first period.

The Rock poured in three goals in the first 21 minutes of the second half to put the game away. Aronica notched his second of the year after a free kick from Joshua Gray found his foot through traffic in the box in the 51st minute.

Just minutes later, Madzelonka got in on the scoring action when he found the net from just inside the box after taking a pass from Aronica in the 56th minute.

The game's final goal came in the 66th minute when Donnelly scored his third of the year unassisted to make it 4-0.

Saturday's game was the first road game of the season for Slippery Rock, which will travel to the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown Tuesday for a 4 p.m. non-conference match. UPJ currently competes in the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference but will make the move to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference as full members next fall.
