BLOOMSBURG, Pa. -- Slippery Rock University's
Janelle Krantz and
Kasey Love lost an 8-4 decision Sunday in semifinal action of the women's doubles competition at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Tennis Championships.
Krantz, a senior, and Love, a freshman, fell to the second-seeded duo of Tanya Timko and Emilia Osborne of Indiana (Pa.). Timko and Osborne then lost an 8-1 decision in the championship match to Lucie Rey and Lucie Sipkova, the top-seeded tandem from California (Pa.).
Krantz (pictured) and Love had earned their semifinal berth by upsetting Indiana's fourth-seeded tandem of Katie Eaton and Erika Schnass by an 8-5 score Saturday in quarterfinal action. Krantz and Love opened tournament play with an 8-1 win Saturday over Shippensburg's Brittnee Buckley and Cassie Sidone in the opening round of the tournament.
Krantz and Love will join their Rock teammates on the court Tuesday when SRU travels to Division I Robert Morris University in suburban Pittsburgh for a 4 p.m. dual match.
