SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – West Liberty University recorded three-set victories in the final two matches Thursday to record a come-from-behind, 5-4 win over hosting Slippery Rock University in NCAA Division II women's tennis action.
The win extended WLU's season-opening win streak to five matches, while The Rock suffered a setback in their first dual match of the 2012-13 season.
The Hilltoppers trailed by a 4-3 score in the team competition before they won the No. 1 and No. 4 singles matches by 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 and 7-6 (7), 3-6, 6-4 scores, respectively.
Overshadowed by the team loss were a pair of wins recorded by freshman
Courtney Gallagher in her first collegiate dual match.

Samantha Bruggeman reigned by an 8-3 score in the No. 3 match to help SRU hold a 2-1 lead at the conclusion of doubles competition.
In singles action, Gallagher won a 6-2, 6-0 decision in the No. 6 match.

Lauren Coggins also had a hand in two Rock points as she won a 6-1, 6-3 decision in the No. 3 singles match and joined with senior
Elisabeth Yetiskul to win an 8-3 decision in the No. 2 doubles match.

Kasey Love (pictured) return to the courts Saturday for the start of the two-day Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Individual Championships in Bloomsburg. All three student-athletes will vie for the singles title, while Krantz and Love will compete for the doubles championship.
The next Rock dual match is Tuesday at Division II Robert Morris University in suburban Pittsburgh.
