ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Senior guard
Christa Wodarczyk scored a team-high 10 points and grabbed five rebounds Friday night in a losing effort as the University of Michigan rolled to a 106-35 win over visiting Slippery Rock University in a women's basketball exhibition game at Crisler Arena.
The NCAA Division II Rock hung with their Division I foes in the early going but proved to be no match for the Wolverines, who received votes in the Associated Press preseason national poll.

Michigan then took firm control of the action as the hosts went on a 38-9 run to close out the first half of action and take a 56-19 advantage into the intermission.
The hosts made 65% (24-37) of their field-goal attempts in the opening 20 minutes of action, including four of seven (57%) from 3-point range, but sank only half four of eight free throws.
The Rock, meanwhile, shot 35% (8-23) from the field with a 3-for-12 (25%) showing from beyond the arc and did not attempt a free throw in the first half.
SRU, which was only outrebounded by an 18-13 margin in the opening stanza, also hurt its chances by committing 16 turnovers in the first half compared to only two miscues by Michigan.
Michigan outscored SRU by a 38-2 margin “in the paint” in the opening half and by a 15-4 margin “off the bench.”
Wodarczyk led The Rock's first-half scoring effort with six points, Cunningham added five points and Chambers four.
Cunningham finished the game with seven points and Chambers ended the night with six points and a team-high rebounds.
SRU ended the game with a 29% (16-55) efficiency on its field-goal attempts with an 11.5% (3-26) reading from 3-point range and an 0-for-2 showing at the foul line. The Rock committed 25 turnovers.
Michigan, which was led by scoring by sophomore guard Nicole Elmblad's game-high 20 points, made 615 (43-71) of its field goal tries, 57% (8-14) from 3-point range, and 12 of 17 (71%) free throws. The Wolverines had a 42-30 rebounding advantage behind the lead of 6-foot-4 senior Kate Thompson (10 rebounds) and only turned the ball over five times.
The Rock will play their second and final preseason exhibition game Saturday at Division I Bowling Green State University. Tipoff is set for noon.
SRU officially tips off its 2012-13 season Nov. 10 with a 6 p.m. home game against Urbana University in Morrow Field House.
