SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.
-- Kenneth Fultz notched a hat trick and Ryan Pindroh scored his second goal in as many games to lead the 13th-ranked Slippery Rock University men's soccer team to a 5-0 win over the University of D.C. Saturday in non-conference action at Egli Field.

Saturday marked the fifth-straight win and fourth-straight shutout for The Rock, which improved its season record to 15-2, surpassing last season's total of 14 wins. Slippery Rock has outscored opponents 16-0 in the last four games and has not allowed a goal in 429 consecutive minutes.

Fultz's three-goal performance comes on the heels of a career-best two-goal effort in a 5-0 win over Davis & Elkins Wednesday to give the sophomore forward five goals on the season.

Jeremy Deighton was credited with the game-winning goal after he scored first on an unassisted shot into the left corner of the net in the seventh minute. The goal was his 16th total score of the season, matching his total from last year, and was also his eighth game-winner of the season, which is tops in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.

Fultz scored the next three goals, first an unassisted marker in the 35th minute, before converting a penalty kick in the 45th minute to send the game into halftime with SRU leading 3-0.

He finished off his hat trick in the 64th minute when he scored to the left side of the net off an assist from Josh Gauger.

Pindroh capped the scoring in the 89th minute when he notched his second career goal off an assist from Anthony Paganie.

Timothy White made his first collegiate start in goal and earned the shutout win after recording three saves. Kareem Gray took the loss for the Firebirds (2-11-1) after allowing five goals and recording 12 saves.

Slippery Rock finished the game with advantages of 33-11 in total shots, 18-3 in shots on goal and 11-1 in corner kicks.
