#21 Rock runs past Seton Hill, 4-0

The 21st-ranked Rock men's soccer team earned a 4-0 shutout win Wednesday at Seton Hill

GREENSBURG, Pa.
-- Jeremy Deighton scored his 12th and 13th goals of the season and Greg Blum recorded his seventh shutout of the year as the 21st-ranked Slippery Rock University men's soccer team earned a 4-0 victory Wednesday at Seton Hill.

The Rock, ranked second in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region, improves to 12-2 overall this season with the win. Seton Hill, which found itself in the national rankings throughout the first three weeks of the season, drops to 7-5-3.

Deighton started things off for The Rock in the 38th minute when he converted on an assist from Kenneth Fultz to send the game into halftime with SRU leading 1-0.

Slippery Rock broke the game open in the second half, starting with Thomas Pool's first goal of the season in the 53rd minute. Benjamin Lloyd was credited with an assist on the goal.

Deighton scored his second of the game in the 60th minute off an assist from Iain Langstone and Lloyd capped the scoring with his fourth of the season, an unassisted marker in the 67th minute.

Deighton's goals bring his season total to 13, including six game-winning goals, both of which are tops in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.

Blum was credited with four saves in earning the shutout win, his seventh, which also leads the PSAC this season.

Slippery Rock will travel to Bloomsburg Saturday for a PSAC crossover game at 1 p.m.
