SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Third-ranked West Chester rolled over The Rock by a 27-2 score Wednesday afternoon in rain-soaked Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action on Bob DiSpirito Field at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.

The win was the Golden Rams' second in three games, while the loss was SRU's fourth in as many outings.

Senior Jayme Timmons scored both Rock goals to increase her season total to five. Alison Rusnak was credited with an assist on Timmons' first goal.

West Chester outshot The Rock by a 47-4 margin, enjoyed a 15-3 advantage in turnovers and won 23 of 31 faceoffs in the game. Fifteen different WCU players scored at least one goal in the game.

The Golden Rams enjoyed a 14-0 lead before Timmons, assisted by Rusnak, got SRU on the scoreboard with just less than eight minutes remaining in the first 30-minute period.

The margin was 27-1 when Timmons scored an unassisted goal in the final seconds of action to conclude the game's scoring.

Rock goalies Sara Williams and Ashley Winkelspecht each recorded seven saves.

The Rock returns to action Friday, when it will travel to Bloomsburg for a PSAC game.

SRU then returns home to open a three-game homestand. The Rock will host Shippensburg, Bloomsburg and Kutztown on March 25, 27 and 31, respectively..
