SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- After dropping two in a row in Florida The Rock was unable to get its first win Saturday as they played host to Seton Hill University at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium dropping an 18-12 decision to the Griffins.
SRU struck first off a goal from
Jayme Timmons at the 29:04 mark. That would be one of three goals Timmons would have on the day. The goal marked the first lead of the year for The Green and White. SRU would hold the lead for three and half minutes before Seton Hill tied it up. That would be the only lead The Rock would see during the day.
SRU would see two goals from Caitlin O'Brien in the first half and another from
Brooke Scholl.
The Rock would trade Goals with Seton Hill through out the day matching them goal for goal as the score was tied five all at the 12:44 mark in the first half.
Seton Hill would then go on a run making the score 11-5 at the half.
SRU would stick with the Griffins through out the second half never letting the lead get beyond eight.
The Green and White would get three more goals from O'Brien in the second half totaling five on the day. Scholl would chip in two more to total three on the day.
Alison Rusnak added one in the second half. Rounding out The Rock scoring attack on the day would be Timmons as she would put in the last goal for SRU at the 2:51 mark.
The Rock recorded 32 shots on the day.
SRU's next match is set for March 19 at 4 p.m. when it plays host to West Chester University at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.
