SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- The Rock lost a 3-0 decision to visiting California (Pa.) in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division action on James W. Egli Soccer Field.

As a result, The Rock -- which had won eight straight matches prior to Saturday's loss -- will travel to California for a PSAC semifinal game Wednesday.

SRU will take a 13-5-1 record into Wednesday's game. California is now 11-7-2.

The Vulcans vaulted from fourth place in the division standings to the top of the chart with Saturday's win and, in the process, earned the right to host Wednesday's semifinal game vs. SRU.

The Rock, which began Saturday's action atop the conference standings, return to the conference playoffs after one year hiatus. SRU earned back-to-back playoff berths in 2005 and 2006 and claimed the ultimate prize, the conference crown, in 2005.

Saturday, The Rock outshot their guests by a 14-11 margin but was unable to put the ball in the back of the net.

Sophomore goalie Greg Blum recorded five saves for SRU.
