Jeremy Deighton scored two goals and sophomore midfielder
Toby Bowser (pictured above) handed out a school-record-tying four assists Saturday afternoon to lead The Rock to a 5-4 win over hosting Gannwseron in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division action.
The win was the seventh straight recorded by The Rock, but more importantly it kept alive the Green and White's bid for a conference playoff berth.
The Rock now owns a 12-4-1 overall record and a 3-3 PSAC-West mark. Gannon saw its record fall to 9-6-1 overall, 2-4-1 in division play.
Mercyhurst and Lock Haven are tied for first place in the division with 11 points in the PSAC point system that awards three points for a division-game win and one point for a division-game tie.
California is in third place with 10 points, followed by The Rock with nine and Gannon with seven.
The top two teams at the end of regular-season play will advance to the conference playoffs.
The Rock visits Lock Haven for a division game Wednesday before it will close the regular-season schedule next Saturday, Nov. 1, with a home game vs. California.
In Saturday's game, Deighton have The Rock a 1-0 lead when he scored his first goal of the game off Bowser's first assist of the contest in the 14th minute of action.
Gannon then scored three unanswered goals, only to see The Rock reel off four straight goals to regain the lead for good.

Kenneth Fultz scored an unassisted goal in the 69th minute to trim the Gannon lead to 3-2.

Anthony Paganie, off Bowser's second assist of the game, tied the score at 3-3 in the 75th minute.
Three-plus minutes later, sophomore forward
Lucas Feathers gave the Green and White a 4-3 lead with a tally off Bowser's third assist of the game.
Deighton then scored his second goal of the game -- what proved to be the game-winner -- on a header, set up by a pass from Bowser, in the 84th minute.
Gannon trimmed the final margin to one goal with a tally one minute later.
The Rock outshot Gannon by a 15-13 margin overall and had a 9-7 edge in shots on goal.

Greg Blum recorded four saves, while his Gannon counterpart, Steven Boehmer, had three saves.
