ELKINS, W. Va. -- Patrick Conley (pictured above) scored the only goal of the game off a corner-kick assist from Toby Bowser to lift The Rock past hosting Davis & Elkins, 1-0, in non-conference action Saturday afternoon.
The win was the fifth straight for SRU, which now owns a 10-4-1 overall record.
Rock goalie Greg Blum recorded his second straight shutout and sixth of the season. He recorded seven saves.
The Rock outshot the hosts by a 14-13 margin and held a 9-7 advantage in shots on goal.
SRU returns to action at 7 p.m. Wednesday, when it will host Mercyhurst in a PSAC-Western Division game at N. Kerr Thompson Stadium.
That will be the first of four straight PSAC-West games The Rock will play to close out the 2008 season.
The Rock is currently in last place in the five-team division, but will face all four teams that are ranked ahead of them in the closing weeks of the season.
The top two teams in the division at the end of regular-season play will advance to the conference playoffs.
