AP Little All-America Team

AP – Slippery Rock University senior offensive lineman Cory Tucker picked up his third All-America honor of the season Thursday afternoon when the Associated Press (AP) Little All-America team was announced.

The AP Little All-America team selects the best "small college" players in the country and includes players from Division II and Division III.

Tucker was named to first team honors and is one of just five linemen from more than 300 NCAA Division II and Division III football programs to make the first team. He was previously named to first team All-America honors by the American Football Coaches Association and the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association this fall.

Tucker was also named to first team All-Region and first team All-Conference honors and finished third overall and first among offensive linemen in the national voting for the Division II Gene Upshaw Lineman of the Year Award.

This marks the third All-America honor this season for Tucker and the sixth overall in his career. The senior from South Park, Pa. started 48 straight games at right tackle over the last four years and helped pave the way for one of the most prolific offenses in the country. The Rock finished the 2015 season with the highest scoring offense in the country, averaging 45.2 points per game. Slippery Rock had the most first downs (351) of any team in the nation, the fifth best total offense in the nation at 490.3 yards per game and the 12th best rushing offense at 257.7 yards per game.

The Rock offense shattered multiple single-season school records this fall, including rushing yards (3,608), rushing attempts (741), rushing TDs (46), total offense (6,864), all-purpose yardage (8,599), scoring (633 points) and total TDs (87).

Tucker is on pace to become a consensus All-America selection if he is listed on the D2football.com and Don Hansen Football Gazette teams, which have not been announced yet.

Slippery Rock finished the 2015 season with a 12-2 overall record and a trip to the NCAA quarterfinals. The 12 wins tied the 1998 team for the most in school history. The Rock won the PSAC Western Division title for the third straight year and claimed the PSAC Championship for the second straight year.
