LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Slippery Rock University women's tennis standout
Amaia Balaguer Brau has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Balaguer Brau earned her seventh career PSAC West Athlete of the Week honor after helping The Rock to 7-0 wins over Clarion and Seton Hill.

Over the two matches, Balaguer Brau posted a perfect 4-0 record with two wins at out of The Rock's No. 1 singles flight as well as a 2-0 mark from the second doubles flight with
Tina Slovak.

Already a two-time PSAC West Athlete of the Year honoree (2024, 2025), Balaguer Brau is once again one of the top competitors in the division. She's put together a 13-5 overall singles record, including a 6-2 mark in first flight dual match play in addition to going 11-4 in double play while teaming primarily with Slovak (11-3). Â

Winners of three straight matches, Slippery Rock brings a 7-1 overall record into a three-match week including home matches against Edinboro (4:30 p.m. Wednesday) and Lock Haven (4 p.m. Friday) and a non-conference road match 2 p.m. at St. Bonaventure.
