SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The undefeated Slippery Rock University women's lacrosse team held at to No. 7 in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association national rankings and stayed at No. 3 in the USA Lacrosse Magazine national rankings when both organizations updated their Division II national polls Monday.

Slippery Rock climbed back to No. 7 in the IWLCA poll last week and stayed there again this week. The Rock have been ranked between No. 7 and No. 11 in every poll released by the IWLCA this year, which is the poll widely used as the official national ranking during the season. SRU opened the year at No. 5 in the USA Lacrosse Magazine Poll and climbed to No. 3, where the team stays for the eighth week in a row.

SRU continued to hold high rankings in both polls after posting a pair of home wins last week, 24-2 over Edinboro and 17-7 over Indiana (Pa.), to improve to 15-0 on the year.

Slippery Rock continues to be one of just three undefeated teams remaining in Division II, joining No. 1 Flagler (17-0) and No. 5 East Stroudsburg (16-0). The Rock rank first nationally in scoring defense (4.93 goals per game), seventh in scoring offense (17.13 goals per game) and third in scoring margin (+12.20 goals per game).

East Stroudsburg is the highest ranked team from the Atlantic Region at No. 5 in the IWLCA poll. The Rock come in at No. 7 to give the region two teams in the top 10 this week. West Chester held its spot at No. 11 and Kutztown stayed at No. 15 to give the PSAC four teams in the top 15 and the four highest ranked teams from the region.

Wingate stayed at No. 16 this week as the top ranked team in the region from outside the PSAC. Seton Hill stayed at No. 22 to give the Atlantic Region six teams in the top 25 this week. Anderson dropped out of the top 25 but is the only team listed as receiving votes this week.

Slippery Rock will close the regular season with a pair of road games this week with a trip to No. 22 Seton Hill Wednesday for a 4 p.m. game and a trip to Lock Haven Saturday for a noon game. The Rock have already locked up a home game April 28 in the PSAC quarterfinals and can guarantee an outright division title and a No. 1 seed in the conference tournament with a win in either game this week.
