SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The seventh ranked Slippery Rock University women's lacrosse team cruised to a 24-2 win over Edinboro Wednesday in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division game from Mihalik-Thomspon Stadium.

The Rock jumped out to an 11-0 lead in the first quarter and pulled their starters midway through the second on the way to improving to 14-0 overall and 7-0 in the PSAC West with the win. Edinboro dropped to 3-11 overall and 0-7 in the PSAC with the loss.

The win extended Slippery Rock's current winning streaks to 24 straight regular season games, 21 straight PSAC West games, 19 straight home games and 24 straight games in the series with Edinboro.

The Rock were dominant in all phases Wednesday and finished with advantages of 51-5 in total shots, 41-3 in shots on goal, 22-6 in draw controls and 24-20 in ground balls. SRU was a perfect 5-for-5 on clear attempts and limited Edinboro to just 3-of-17.

Slippery Rock got points from 14 different players and at least two points from 12 different players with
Grace Rotter leading the way with six points on four goals and two assists in less than two full quarters of action. Rotter also finished with game-highs of four caused turnovers and five ground balls to go along with four draw controls.

Maddie Blazey (1g, 3a),
Claire Petty (4g) and
Abby Fink (2g, 2a) all finished with four points, while
Isabella Buono (2g, 1a),
Lauren Petty (1g, 2a) and
Laurelle Surette (2g, 1a) all finished with three points.

Cadyn Eismann (2g),
Reagan Richeson (2g),
Amara Langstaff (2g),
Ava Dossier (2g) and
Shannon Von Kaenel (2a) each tallied two points. Von Kaenel also pulled down a game-high 13 draw controls and in the process became the third player in SRU program history to surpass 200 career draw controls.

Caitlyn Kelly and
Brooke Walters each handed out one assist to cap the scorers.

Paige Jenkins paced the defense with three caused turnovers and three ground balls while
Mckenzie Murphy added two caused turnovers.

Lily Ventresca improved to 13-0 in goal after allowing one goal and making one save in 30 minutes of action.
Ava Drath played the second half and allowed one goal.

Edinboro got one goal each from Natalia Farr and Jacqui Detelich. Addy Ours made 14 saves in goal.

Slippery Rock increased its lead in the PSAC West standings to two full games after Wednesday's action and will look to continue its push toward a second straight division title with a noon home game Saturday against Indiana (Pa.). SRU will celebrate its six seniors as part of a Senior Day celebration prior to the game.
