ROCK MOVES TO NO. 3 IN ATLANTIC REGION NPI RANKINGS
Slippery Rock moved to No. 3 in the Atlantic Region NCAA Power Index when the daily rankings were released Thursday.

The NCAA Power Index (NPI) is a rankings system used in Division II and Division III to evaluate team performance. NPI considers game results and the strength of opponents to calculate a team's NPI value and ranking.

NPI calculations update throughout the season as teams play additional contests and opponent NPI values change. A team's final NPI is not determined until the final games and rankings of the season are complete.

The NPI takes place of the NCAA's previous regional rankings system and will determine the at-large teams selected to the championship after the automatic qualifiers have been decided.

For more information on the NCAA Power Index click HERE.

The Division II women's soccer playoff field features 56 teams from across the nation, with each region receiving a pre-determined amount of berths based on access ratio.

The Atlantic Region has seven spots in the NCAA Tournament this season as the conference champions from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference and the Mountain East Conference will earn automatic berths in addition to five at-large selections determined by the final NPI rankings.

Slippery Rock enters the PSAC Tournament Semifinal Friday versus West Chester with a 15-2-2 overall record and the third-best NPI among all teams in the region. The two teams ahead of SRU are No. 4 Kutztown (61.172/ 16-1-2) and No. 24 Fairmont State University (59.984/ 17-1-3). SRU is 2-1-2 against the top nine teams in the Atlantic Region in the fourth set of rankings, going 1-0-0 against Frostburg State University and Millersville each, 0-0-2 against Gannon and 0-1-0 against Fairmont State.

The NCAA will continue to release its NPI Rankings daily until the Selection Monday Nov. 9, where it will hold its rankings to be released until after the selection show. To follow along with the daily NPI Rankings, click HERE.

EARLEY, HERLIHY GRAB MAJOR AWARDS AS ROCK LAND SEVEN ON ALL-PSAC TEAM
Earley was named the PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Year, and head coach Noreen Herlihy grabbed PSAC West Coach of the Year, as the Slippery Rock women's soccer team landed seven All-PSAC West selections when the conference office announced its postseason awards Wednesday.

Slippery Rock's all-conference accolades mark the seventh consecutive year that The Rock have garnered at least four All-PSAC West Team members.

Earley becomes the first Rock athlete to win a PSAC West major award since Rachel Edge and Madison Johnson in 2019. That season saw Edge take home the Athlete of the Year and Johnson earn Defensive Athlete of the Year.

Herlihy earns her third consecutive PSAC West Coach of the Year honor after also earning the recognition following her first season back with The Rock in 2025 and the 2024 season as the head coach at Indiana University (Pa.). With this selection, Herlihy is now a six-time PSAC Coach of the Year award winner. She also earned the award in 1996, 2003 and 2012.

Herlihy guided Slippery Rock to a PSAC West title for the second consecutive and sixth season overall in her second year back at the program. This fall, she led Slippery Rock to a 13-1-2 PSAC West record. Now in her 21st overall season at Slippery Rock, she owns a 267-118-33 record, the most wins in SRU history in any sport. Herlihy's 332 career wins rank her 21st all-time in NCAA women's soccer history at the Division II level.

Earley, junior from Wexford, Pennsylvania, led The Rock defense to the fourth-best goals against average at .74 goals allowed per game. That mark also puts SRU 50th in the nation in GAA. On the offensive side of the ball, Earley registered a career-high three assists, which also marks a career-high in goal contributions in a season (3).

Slippery Rock's seven selections were the most from any team across the PSAC. No. 4 Kutztown University led the PSAC East with six all-conference selections.

The Rock had five first team honorees and two second team selections. Allman, Earley, McGee, Palmero and Los earned first team honors. Paterline and Lillian Snyder were selected as second team members.

Allman and Palermo earned their second career All-PSAC honors with both players earning All-PSAC West Second Team in 2025. The other five Rock players were selected to an all-conference team for the first time.
