SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – No. 7 Slippery Rock University returned to its winning ways with a 5-0 non-conference victory over D'Youville University Wednesday at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.

The victory improves The Rock's record to a healthy 9-2 on the season, while the Saints fall to 4-6. SRU's nine victories are tied for the fifth-highest win total in program history. Slippery Rock is also 8-0 in non-conference games this season.

A true "get-right game" for SRU, which snapped a mini two-game losing streak, The Rock controlled all facets of Wednesday's contest. Slippery Rock closed the contest dominating possession and holding advantages over D'Youville in total shots (32-1), shots on goal (17-0) and penalty corners (10-0).

Three athletes accounted for The Rock's goals. Coral Piramo and Lucy Hutchinson scored two apiece and Riley Cloude tallied one as well.

One of the top scorers in Division II this season, Hutchinson is now up to 12 goals. Inside the program, she now ranks fourth in single-season history for total points (28) and fifth in goals scored.

In what's been a career-year, Piramo has now registered seven goals. Cloude's strike was her second of 2026.

Hilary Hoffman set up The Rock's first two goals and in the process moved into a tie with Hutchinson for SRU's team lead in assists for the season (4). Hoffman's big day upped her career assist total to 11, tying her for fifth in program history for assists in a career.

Paige Shannon and Keila Schutte-Hanekom rounded out Slippery Rock's point scorers in the victory with one assist each.

Slippery Rock's 17 shots on goal were distributed between nine athletes in Hutchinson (4), Piramo (3), Cloude (2), Hoffman (2), Schutte-Hanekom (1), Tatiana Calderon (2), Josie Shultz (1), Haylie Sucharski (1) and Grace Williams (1).

Defensively, The Rock's back line had a stellar day by holding D'Youville to just one shot through 60 minutes: an off target attempt that was blocked. SRU used three goalies on the day in starter Sam Black (33:34), Rylee Catterton (11:26) and Leah Riegling (15:00).

The Rock opened their scoring barrage 12 minutes into regulation when Hoffman played a ball into the center of the circle that Piramo chipped in past DYU goalie Sarah Reifsnyder.

SRU stretched its lead to 2-0 just 86 seconds into the second quarter when Hoffman again fired a ball into the circle that Hutchinson deflected into the cage.

The Rock's offensive production continued into the third quarter with goals a mere three minutes apart as Hutchinson weaved her way through the D'Youville defense for her second score of the night at 30:33 followed by Shannon guiding a pass into Piramo, who beat Reifsnyder at 33:34.

Slippery Rock's final goal of the contest came with 4:46 to play in the fourth quarter via a perfectly executed penalty corner in which Schutte-Hanekom inserted a pass to Cloude, who in turn rocketed the hardest shot of the game into the back of the cage to cap off the five-goal victory.

Reifsnyder made 12 saves to lead D'Youville. Jimena Loustalot had DYU's shot attempt.

Slippery Rock returns to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference competition noon Saturday when it hosts No. 2 East Stroudsburg University at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.
