SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's soccer team starts Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division play versus Lock Haven University 4 p.m. Wednesday.
 
Slippery Rock enters PSAC West action with a 2-3-1 record overall, while Lock Haven comes into the match with a 4-3-1 record in 2025.

The inaugural match between The Rock and the Bald Eagles took place in 1952, a 2-1 Rock victory. Over the last 72 years, Slippery Rock and Lock Haven have played 76 times. Slippery Rock owns a 33-37-6 overall record and 15-16-5 mark at home against Lock Haven. Despite a losing record against the Bald Eagles, SRU does own a 17-8-1 in its last 26 matches against Lock Haven. LAST TIME OUT
Slippery Rock dropped its final PSAC crossover game at Shepherd University, 3-0.
 
Cornelis DedeckerKaden Reynolds and Gabin Lonjard led The Rock with two shots each. Dedecker paced SRU with two shots on goal. Lonjard and Ethan Boland registered one shot on goal each for Slippery Rock.

Slippery Rock has seen success in its conference openers in the last 16 seasons. The Rock owns a 10-4-2 in such games since 2008. SRU has played Lock Haven in its conference opener three times in that span, coming out with two victories and a tie against the Bald Eagles.

LEADING THE ROCK
Dedecker has paced The Rock on offense as he leads SRU in points with six. Reynolds and Zsombor Retfalvi are tied for the Slippery Rock goal lead with two. Dedecker, Aashi Pandher, Jimmy Irani and Patrick Tierney all have one tally for The Rock.

Dedecker leads all SRU players with four assists. Irani, Pandher, Retfalvi, Colton Swanson and Massimo Cuda have all collected one assist.
 
Dedecker leads SRU with 13 shots through six games. Pandher and Reynolds trail the forward by one and two shots respectively, while Retfalvi has accumulated eight shots. Pandher and Dedecker lead The Rock with seven shots on goal apiece.

THE ROCK IN GOAL
Slippery Rock has played two different goalkeepers in its first six games. Kaufman owns a 1-2-1 record with 11 saves on a .647 save percentage, while allowing three goals.
 
Troy Nine is 1-1-0 with three saves on a .500 save percentage, while allowing three goals.
 
PSAC LEADERS
Slippery Rock has players near the top of multiple PSAC leaderboards through the first four weeks of the season. Dedecker currently sits atop the PSAC in assists with four helpers. The freshman also ranks second in the conference in assists per game with 0.67.
 
Kaufman ranks ninth in the PSAC in goals against average with 1.5 and ninth in save percentage with a .647 mark.

DIVISION II LEADERS
Not only is Dedecker highly ranked in the PSAC, the freshman from Nykoping, Sweden is 16th in all of Division II in assists (4) and 14th in assists per game (0.67).
 
WILHELM LOOKING TO MOVE UP SRU WINS LIST
Slippery Rock head coach Kevin Wilhelm is looking to move up on The Rock's all-time wins list for men's soccer. Wilhelm is currently sixth on SRU's all-time wins list with 41 wins, just one behind Michael Bonelli and current Slippery Rock women's soccer head coach Noreen Herlihy.

LOCK HAVEN SCOUTING REPORT
The Bald Eagles have gotten off to a solid start in 2025. Lock Haven holds a 4-3-1 record overall and enters this match against SRU on a two-game winning streak.

Lock Haven is led by Camden Marquette with five points on two goals and one assist. Marquette is tied for Lock Haven's goal lead with Kade Black and Noah Brady, who also have two goals each.

Reigning PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week Ethan Beck has started seven of the eight games for the Bald Eagles. Beck owns a 3-3-1 record while making 19 saves for a .679 save percentage and has allowed nine goals for a 1.38 GAA.
