SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The 21st-ranked Slippery Rock University women's lacrosse team scored 11 goals in the first quarter and cruised to a 19-3 win over Edinboro Wednesday afternoon in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division game from Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.

The Rock improve to 7-1 overall and 2-0 in PSAC West action while improving to 2-0 at home this season with their first home game since March 1. Edinboro slips to 1-6 overall and 0-2 in PSAC West games.

Slippery Rock scored the first goal just 38 seconds into the game and poured in 11 goals in the first quarter after recording the first 23 shots in the game.
Every healthy player on the SRU roster appeared in the game and 14 different players scored at least one point.

The Rock finished with advantages of 45-7 in shots, 28-4 in shots on goal, 18-7 in draw controls, 22-14 in ground balls and 16-7 in caused turnovers. SRU was perfect on the clear, going 9-for-9, while The Rock defense limited Edinboro to just 7-of-18 on the clear.

Ava Dossier led seven players with multiple points for SRU with three goals and two assists.
Isabella Buono added one goal and two assists and
Krysta Frankowski chipped in two goals and one assist.
Leora Owings and
Claire Petty each scored one goal and handed out one assist, while
Laurelle Surette and
Abby Fink each netted two goals. The goals by Petty and Surette marked their first collegiate goals.

Sydney Ulmer,
Brooke Walters,
Eryn Little,
Maddie Blazey and
Grace Rotter all scored one goal and
Shannon Von Kaenel dished out one assist to go with game-highs of nine draw controls, three caused turnovers and three ground balls to round out the point scorers.

Paige Jenkins led the defense with two caused turnovers while 11 different SRU players managed at least one caused turnover.
Lily Ventresca earned the win in goal after playing the opening half and allowing one goal on a free position shot.
Ava Drath played the second half and allowed two goals while making the lone save of the game for SRU.

Edinboro got a pair of goals from Jacqui Detelich and one goal from Rylee Jones. Addy Ours made eight saves in goal.

Slippery Rock will now turn its focus to a second straight home game with Indiana University (Pa.) set to visit Saturday for a noon start.
