Rock draws California on the road, 0-0

The Slippery Rock men’s soccer team played to a 0-0 draw Saturday at California (Pa.).

CALIFORNIA, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw Saturday at California (Pa.).
 
With the draw, Slippery Rock's record goes to 6-7-3 overall and 3-4-2 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division, while California goes to 2-11-2 overall with a 0-8-1 mark in the PSAC West.
 
Today's result knocked SRU out of PSAC Tournament contention as The Rock needed to win their final two games to reach the conference tournament.
 
Kaden Reynolds led Slippery Rock with four shots. Colton Swanson, Ryan Hanes and Zsombor Retfalvi had two shots apiece, while Massimo Cuda, Thomas Uckert and Cornelis Dedecker rounded out the SRU shot takers with one shot each.
 
Alvey Kaufman made two saves in his fourth shutout of the season.
 
Slippery Rock finished the game with a 13-5 advantage in shots and a 5-2 edge in shots on goal.
 
Slippery Rock will finish the year 2 p.m. Nov. 6 against Pitt-Johnstown at James Egli Filed.

The Rock will be looking for the season-sweep over the Mountain Cats. Earlier this season, Slippery Rock earned a 2-0 win over Pitt-Johnstown on the road.
