BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Slippery Rock University women's tennis team's top doubles pairing of
Alissia Kivi and
Nicole Kempton won their semifinal match Saturday at the ITA Atlantic Region Championships.

The duo punched their ticket to the doubles championship match by beating the Indiana University (Pa.) contingent of Hannah Beitat and Annemiek Sterk in an 8-4 decision.

The victory improved The Rock's talented duo's record to 8-3 on the season overall. In two years playing together, Kempton and Kivi have compiled an overall record of 34-11.

Kempton and Kivi will meet the University of Charleston's Sara Martinez and Filippa Larsson in the Sunday's championship match. The contest will pit the tournament's top two seeded teams against one another with a regional title and an automatic bid to the prestigious ITA Cup on the line.

In addition to competing in the doubles draw, both Kivi and Kempton also took part in the singles bracket quarterfinal round as Kivi lost Larsson 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) while Kempton dropped a close 7-5, 7-5 match to Charleston's Sofia Krasikova.

The ITA Atlantic Region doubles championship match is slated to get underway Sunday following the singles final, which is set for a 10 a.m. start.
