Rock falls on the road to Seton Hill

The Slippery Rock men’s soccer team falls on the road in PSAC West action to Seton Hill Saturday, 3-1.

GREENSBURG, Pa. - The Slippery Rock University men's soccer team falls on the road in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division action to Seton Hill University Saturday, 3-1.
 
Slippery Rock drops to below .500 with a 3-4-1 record overall and a 1-1-0 record in the PSAC West. Seton Hill improves to 5-4-0 overall and 1-1-0 in the PSAC West.
 
Kaden Reynolds scored the lone goal for SRU. The tally was Reynold's team-leading third goal of the season. The sophomore from Mount Albert, Ontario led The Rock with two shots and one on goal.
 
Gabin Lonjard, Patrick Tierney and Zsombor Retfalvi all registered one shot for The Rock, with Lonjard putting his shot on goal.
 
Alvey Kaufman's record falls to 2-3-1 on the year, as the sophomore made a career-high four saves in the loss to Seton Hill.
 
The first half was slowly paced, with neither team creating much offense. Kaufman made the only save of the first half on a shot from Chris Duran-Escobar.
 
Slippery Rock and Seton Hill entered halftime with three shots apiece, with the Griffins having the only shot on goal.
 
Seton Hill opened the scoring early in the second half with a goal from James Aubrey just three minutes into the frame. The Griffins would double their lead just two minutes later in the 50th minute with a goal from Esteban Moreira, making it 2-0 Seton Hill. Felix Knorn picked up an assist on each goal.
 
Seton Hill grabbed a 3-0 lead in the 72nd minute off a goal from Rowan Aisenbrey with an assist from Zachary Angoff.
 
Slippery Rock cut into the Seton Hill lead with a goal from Reynolds in the 74th minute, but that would be all SRU would manage.
 
Seton Hill finished the game with a 14-5 advantage in shots and 7-2 edge in shots on goal, claiming its first PSAC West win in 2025.
 
Slippery Rock will return to James Egli Field to start a three-game homestand against Gannon University 4 p.m. Wednesday.
