SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's soccer team looks to break its two-game losing streak with a win against California (Pa.) 12 p.m. Saturday at James Egli Field.
Slippery Rock enters the match with a 3-5-1 record overall and a 1-2-0 PSAC West record, while California owns a 2-6-1 overall mark with a 0-3-0 record in the PSAC West.

LAST TIME OUT
Slippery Rock fell 4-0 to Gannon University in PSAC West action Wednesday at James Egli Field.
Pandher and
Cornelis Dedecker led The Rock with three shots apiece, while each put one shot on goal.
Zsombor Retfalvi was the only other Rock player with multiple shots (2).
Alvey Kaufman matched his career-high with four saves in the loss.
BOUNCING BACK AFTER A LOSS
Despite the loss to Gannon, SRU has lost back-to-back games only twice in the last two seasons. Slippery Rock has not lost three-games in a row since the last three games of the 2023 season.
LEADING THE ROCK
Reynolds has paced The Rock offense with seven points and three goals. Retfalvi and Dedecker the forward with six points apiece.
Retfalvi and
Jimmy Irani trail Reynolds for the Slippery Rock goal lead with two apiece. Dedecker, Pandher and Patrick Tienrey all have one tally for The Rock.
Dedecker leads all SRU players with four assists, while Retfalvi trails Dedecker with two assists. Irani, Pandher,
Colton Swanson and
Massimo Cuda have all collected one assist.
Pandher leads SRU with 17 shots through nine games. Dedecker and Reynolds trail the forward by one and three shots respectively, while Retfalvi has accumulated 13 shots. Pandher leads The Rock with 10 shots on goal.
Spence leads The Rock in minutes played with 796. Spence's defensive partner's Lonjard and Tierney trail the senior in minutes with 781 and 777 respectively.
THE ROCK IN GOAL
Slippery Rock has played two different goalkeepers in its first nine. games. Kaufman has seen the majority of the time in goal and owns a 2-4-1 record with 21 saves on a .618 save percentage, while allowing 13 goals for a 1.86 goals against average.
Troy Nine is 1-1-0 with three saves on a .500 save percentage, while allowing three goals for a 1.5 GAA.
PSAC LEADERS
Slippery Rock has players near the top of multiple PSAC leaderboards through the first four weeks of the season. Dedecker currently sits second in the PSAC in assists with four helpers. The freshman also ranks fourth in the conference in assists per game with 0.44.
Pandher ranks second in the PSAC in shot accuracy with a .588 mark and ninth in the conference with 1.25 shots on goal per game.
Irani sits third in the conference with two game-winning goals and Reynolds holds eighth in that category with one game-winner.
Kaufman ranks sixth in the PSAC in saves per game with 3.00.
TURNING DEFENSE INTO OFFENSE
In past seasons, Slippery Rock has been able to turn defense into offense against the Vulcans. Defenders Spence (2) and
Gabin Lonjard (1) are the only active players on SRU's roster to have scored a goal against Cal. The Rock previously have used set pieces to take advantage of matchups in the box with their defender's size.
WILHELM ON THE SRU WINS LIST
Wilhelm currently sits in a tie for fourth place on SRU's all-time wins list with 42 wins. Wilhelm is tied with Michael Bonelli (2010-13) and current Slippery Rock women's soccer head coach Noreen Herlihy (1997-01). Wilhelm sits 14 wins behind John Eiler (1946-55) for third place on the wins list.

CALIFORNIA SCOUTING REPORT
The Vulcans has gotten off to a slow start in 2025 as they won their first two games but have gone winless since. California owns a 2-6-1 record with a 0-3-0 mark in the PSAC West. Despite a winless conference record, two of Cal's PSAC losses have been by only one goal.
Senior forward Brady Olsen leads Cal with three goals and seven points. Olsen is the only Vulcan with multiple goals this season, but seven other Cal players have scored once.
Ben Sauerlander, Seth Basinger and Jamie Marcelo Espinosa pace Cal with two assists each, while four other California players have logged one assist.
Aj Visco has started all nine games for the Vulcans in goal. Visco supports a 3.00 GAA with a .727 save percentage.
