ERIE, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's soccer team dropped its first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division game 3-0 Wednesday at No. 6 Gannon University.
Slippery Rock's record dropped to 4-3-0 overall and 4-1-0 in the PSAC West. Gannon improved its record to 8-0-0 overall and 5-0-0 in the PSAC West.
Marissa Salisbury took a team-high three shots for The Rock.
Lilia Battalini and
Abby Paterline took one shot each for SRU. Paterline's attempt was the only shot on goal for Slippery Rock.

Gannon jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first 27 minutes. The Golden Knights added a third goal in the 37
th minute to take a 3-0 lead heading into halftime.
While Slippery Rock registered three shots in the second half from Salsibury, Battalini and Paterline. Gannon would repel all three shots, closing out its three-goal victory.
The Golden Knights ended the game with a 22-5 advantage in shots and a 9-1 edge in shots on goal.
Slippery Rock will look to bounce back on Alumni Day against Pitt-Johnstown 1 p.m. Saturday at James Egli Field. SRU is 2-0 in home games this season.
