INDIANA, Pa. - The Slippery Rock University field hockey team lost on the road at No. 10 Indiana University (Pa.), 5-0, Wednesday in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference competition.

With the loss, Slippery Rock's record drops to 3-5 overall and 0-2 inside the PSAC while the nationally ranked Crimson Hawks improve to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in league play.

Roz Mikulak recorded all three of Slippery Rock's shot attempts against IUP, two of which were on target. Goalkeeper
Emily Newton made 10 saves while playing all 60 minutes.

Following a scoreless first quarter, IUP tallied two second-quarter goals to take a multi-score advantage into halftime before adding three more insurance goals in the second half for the shutout victory.

For the game, the Crimson Hawks held advantages over The Rock in total shots (20-3), shots on goal (15-2) and penalty corners (5-1). Jess Davidson had one goal and two assists to lead IUP.

Slippery Rock remains on the road to play another nationally ranked team when it heads to No. 4 East Stroudsburg University 1 p.m. Saturday. Â
