SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's and women's track & field teams will send 100 total student-athletes to compete in a pair of meets in Ohio over the next three days with 23 athletes competing Thursday at Walsh University and 77 athletes competing Friday and Saturday at Ashland University.

LAST CHANCES TO QUALIFY
This week's meets will mark the last chance to hit a PSAC qualifying mark for any SRU athletes that have not yet reached an automatic qualifying mark for the conference championships. It also marks the last chance for athletes that do have a qualifying mark to improve their seeding before the PSAC Championships take place next Friday through Sunday at Shippensburg University.

WALSH PREVIEW
Slippery Rock will send 23 total athletes to Walsh Thursday with select distance runners and jumpers making the trip.

On the men's side, the only entry for SRU that has a PSAC mark in the event they will compete in Thursday is
Bryan Dworek, who currently ranks No. 8 in the PSAC in the long jump. The other six men's entries at Walsh will all be looking to hit a PSAC qualifying mark for the first time this season.

On the women's side,
Jennifer Cichra is already qualified in the 1,500-meter run,
Hannah Burgoon and
Sydney Pitcovich are qualified in the steeplechase and
Baylee Blauser is qualified in the long jump. The rest of the entries will be looking to meet the PSAC standard for the first time this season in the events they are competing in Thursday.

ASHLAND PREVIEW
The majority of the SRU rosters competing this week will head to Ashland, where 38 men and 39 women will represent SRU. Most of the entries are sprinters, hurdlers and field athletes as the top distance runners for SRU will rest this weekend.

On the men's side, Slippery Rock will send most of its top athletes to compete, including pole vaulter

Joshua Gose and
Seaton Wozniak, long jumper
Gavin Thomas, hurdler
Matthew Crow and sprinters
AJ Virata and
Kanye Thompson. The Rock will also run its "A" team in the 4x100-meter relay with
Jacob Thompson joining
Kanye Thompson, Virata and Crow. Virata enters this week ranked No. 1 in the PSAC in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes, with Thompson ranked No. 3 in the 100m. Crow is ranked first in the PSAC in the 110-meter hurdles and Gose is ranked No. 1 in the shot put.

Much like the men, most of The Rock's top female sprinters and field athletes will compete at Ashland this week, headlined by throwers
Tiffany Jolayemi and
Sarah Corrie, who both rank in the top 20 nationally entering the week. Jolayemi ranks first in the PSAC in the hammer and Corrie is No. 1 in the PSAC in the shot put. SRU will also see three of the top four vaulters in the PSAC in action this weekend with
