WEST LIBERTY TIM WEAVER INVITE RESULTS
PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's track & field team recorded 19 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks and one NCAA provisional mark across a pair of meets that wrapped up Saturday evening from Carnegie Mellon University and West Liberty University.

The Rock sent roughly 50 athletes to the two different meets this weekend that began Friday and concluded Saturday. The highlights of the weekend belonged to
Sarah Corrie with an NCAA provisional mark in the shot put at Carnegie Mellon,
Samantha Gilbert with a pair of wins on the track at CMU and
Lydia Latimer with a pair of wins on the track at West Liberty. Â

Slippery Rock will return to action next Saturday at its first of two home meets this spring with the Dave Labor Invitational set for Saturday at the Bill Lennox Track.

CARNEGIE MELLON INVITATIONAL RECAP
Â
Slippery Rock sent most of its roster to Pittsburgh this weekend to compete at CMU, where
Sarah Corrie led the way with a win in the shot put with an NCAA provisional mark of 14.16 meters. She led three SRU athletes to top five finishes in the event with
Becca Martin taking second with a mark of 13.32 meters and
Savannah Schneck finishing fifth at 12.68 meters.

Tiffany Jolayemi also picked up a win in the hammer throw with a season-best effort of 51.53 meters to give SRU wins in both throwing events The Rock competed in at CMU. Schneck was fifth at 46.52 meters to give SRU five total PSAC marks in the throws.

Samantha Gilbert picked up an individual win on the track with a victory in the 100-meter dash in 12.32 seconds.
Regan Johnson followed in second in 12.35 seconds. That duo then teamed with
Layne Miller and
Thai-Lin Pierce to win the 4x100-meter relay in a season-best effort of 47.15 seconds.

SRU also got a win on the track from
Anna Igims, who cruised to a win in the 1,500-meter run in 4:42.48. Igims headlined three PSAC marks for the SRU distance squad this weekend, with
Katie Plassio and
Ruthie Hughes hitting the standard in the 5,000-meter run. Plassio was fifth in 17:50.51 and Hughes was sixth in 18:11.23.

The final PSAC effort on the track at CMU came from
Chaley Younkin, who was third in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.15 seconds.

Kendall Grossman and
Allie Taylor rounded out the PSAC marks at CMU with top three showings in the pole vault. Grossman tied for first but ended up second on misses with a clearance of 3.73 meters. Taylor was third at 3.43 meters.

Slippery Rock sent select jumpers, throwers and multi-event athletes to West Liberty this weekend, where the highlight belonged to
Lydia Latimer with a pair of wins on the track and a trio of PSAC marks. She won the 100-meter hurdles in 15.80 seconds, took the 400-meter dash in 58.87 seconds and was second in the long jump with a leap of 5.43 meters to account for three of the seven total PSAC marks at West Liberty.

Maddy Miller took fifth in the heptathlon after two days of action with a score of 3,915 points. She also hit the PSAC standard in the 100-meter hurdles during the multi with a time of 15.79 seconds.

Aleks Brozeski led the way in the triple jump with a season-best effort of 11.17 meters to place second.
Â
The final PSAC marks from West Liberty came in the throws, where
Isabella Bartoletti was second in the javelin with a toss of 38.23 meters and
Olivia Heckman was second in the shot put with a mark of 12.49 meters.
