NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University women's track and field team recorded 18 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks and six event wins at the Westminster Invitational Saturday at Westminster College.

Saturday's meet marked the fourth straight day SRU athletes were in action in four different locations around the state. The Rock closed out a busy week by winning the triple jump, shot put, hammer, 4x100-meter relay and both hurdle races at Westminster.

SRU won two of the throwing events with
Sarah Corrie winning the shot put with a toss of 13.52 meters and
Tiffany Jolayemi winning the hammer with a throw of 47.51 meters.
Olivia Heckman also hit the PSAC standard in the shot put with a sixth place finish and a toss of 11.93 meters. The top efforts in the throws were rounded out by
Skylar Sherry, who placed second in the javelin with a PSAC qualifying mark of 40.23 meters.

Aleks Brozeski claimed the top spot in the triple jump to give SRU three wins in the field events. Her leap of 11.31 meters met the PSAC standard, as did
Abby Williamson's fourth place mark of 10.76 meters.

SRU had five athletes reach the PSAC standard in the pole vault, led by
Kendall Grossman in second place with a clearance of 3.61 meters.
Allie Taylor was fourth at 3.46 meters, while
Grace Parrett,
Hanna Zeiler and
Olivia Sentle all cleared 3.31 meters.

Slippery Rock won both hurdle races Saturday, with
Chaley Younkin picking up the win in the 100-meter hurdles in 14.88 seconds and
Rachel Veneziano winning the 400-meter hurdles in 1:04.93. Younkin also hit the PSAC standard in the 400m hurdles in fourth place in 1:08.43.

The final win on the track came in the 4x100-meter relay, where
Samantha Gilbert,
Haley Morgan,
Regan Johnson and
Thai-Lin Pierce teamed up to post a time of 48.02 seconds.

Slippery Rock closed its top efforts on the track with four PSAC marks in the mid-distance races.
Â
Jordan Klick registered a career-best effort in the 800-meter run to place fourth in 2:19.87.
Anna Igims was seventh at 2:22.64 after earlier in the day placing second in the 1,500-meter run in 4:41.60.
Marianne Abdalah closed out the PSAC marks with a fifth place finish in the 1,500m in 4:47.45.

Slippery Rock will return to action next weekend at the three-day Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell University.
