MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Slippery Rock University women's track and field team recorded 30 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference qualifying marks across three meets in three different states this week, culminating Saturday night with five event wins at the Mountaineer Twilight hosted by West Virginia University.

The Rock had two senior throwers competing away from the rest of the team with
Sarah Corrie throwing the shot put at the Penn Relays Friday and
Trinity Clark throwing the javelin at the East Coast Relays hosted by the University of North Florida Saturday. Corrie took 13th in the college women's division at the Penn Relays with a throw of 13.52 meters on a rainy and cold day. Clark took eighth in the javelin at North Florida with a throw of 41.95 meters.

Slippery Rock closed the weekend with more than 50 athletes competing at WVU Saturday night in a "Twilight Meet" that wrapped up after 9 p.m. The Rock picked up five event wins and 28 PSAC qualifying marks at WVU.

A total of 15 of those PSAC marks came in the field with 11 of them coming in the four jumping events. The Rock swept the top four places in the pole vault with
Kendall Grossman winning with a clearance of 3.55 meters and
Sarah Schneider,
Hanna Zeiler and
Olivia Sentle all clearing 3.40 meters.

Baylee Blauser led SRU to three PSAC marks in the long jump with a third place finish and a leap of 5.61 meters.
Abby Williamson was third at 5.48 meters and
Aleks Brozeski was fourth at 5.37 meters. All three of those women also hit the PSAC standard in the triple jump with Brozeski leading the way in third place at 11.30 meters. Blauser was fourth at 11.11 meters and Williamson was fifth at 10.93 meters. The top jumps marks were capped by
Amera Coleman with a third place finish in the high jump and a clearance of 1.55 meters.

Slippery Rock picked up one win in the throws with
Tiffany Jolayemi winning the hammer with a throw of 50.59 meters.
Rachel Hutchinson was second at 46.03 meters and also hit the PSAC standard in the discus with a seventh place finish and a throw of 37.18 meters. The final PSAC mark in the throws came from
Olivia Heckman with a runner-up finish in the shot put with a toss of 12.39 meters.

Slippery Rock won three events on the track, led by
Anna Igims with a victory in the 1,500-meter run with a career-best time of 4:37.22. She led the SRU distance runners to five total PSAC marks on the day.
Marianne Abdalah led SRU to three PSAC marks in the 5,000-meter run with a second place finish in 17:47.
Katie Plassio was third in 17:49 and
Ruthie Hughes was eighth in 18:39.
Morgan Dennison rounded out the PSAC marks for the distance runners with a seventh place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 12:07.10.

The other individual win on the track came from
Samantha Gilbert, who won the 100-meter dash in 12.41 seconds.
Thai-Lin Pierce took third in 12.50 seconds to hit the PSAC mark as well. Gilbert and Pierce also teamed with
Haley Morgan and
Regan Johnson to take second in the 4x100-meter relay in 47.10 seconds. Morgan hit the PSAC standard in the 200-meter dash in second place in 26.18 seconds. The top efforts in the sprints were capped by
Madison Olsen in fifth place in the 400-meter dash in 1:00.14.

Jordan Klick joined Igims in leading the way for the mid-distance runners when she clocked a career-best time of 2:17.98 to place fourth in the 800-meter run.

The final PSAC marks of the day came in the hurdle races, where
Chaley Younkin led the way in both the 100-meter and 400-meter hurdles. She was second in both races, running 15.01 seconds in the 100m hurdles and 1:06.90 in the 400m hurdles.
Lorna Speigle also hit the conference standard in the 400m hurdles in third place in 1:07.59.

Slippery Rock returns home next Friday for the SRU Last Chance Meet, which will mark a final tune-up before The Rock host the PSAC Championships May 11-13.
