The first match between The Rock and Tigers occurred March 13, 2020 in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina as Salem earned a 4-3 victory in what turned out to be the final match of the year for SRU as the remainder of the season would eventually be canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

SCOUTING THE ROCK
Spring Break Recap: Slippery Rock competed in four matches in Florida during its annual trip south for Spring Break last week. The Rock opened the trip with consecutive victories against Eastern State Florida College (6-1) and Texas A&M Kingsville (4-3) followed by a pair of narrow 4-3 losses to Dallas Baptist and No. 34 Saint Thomas Aquinas.

Gabriela del Val del Toro was named the PSAC West Athlete of the Week for the second time this season following a dominant showing in Florida in which she went a perfect 4-0 in singles matches and 3-1 in doubles play alongside teammate
Nuria Martin Lopez.

• del Val del Toro enters the week having won seven consecutive singles matches to improve her record to an impressive 16-4 (.800) overall. She is 7-1 in the second flight of dual matches this season in addition to having gone 9-3 in tournament play.

• Martin Lopez and
Adriana Gonzalez Sanchez will bring identical 10-9 singles records into the Salem Match. Gonzalez Sanchez competes out of The Rock's top singles flight while Martin Lopez plays predominantly from the fourth flight.

• Martin Lopez defeated Kunic 6-1, 6-1 earlier in the season in the second round of the ITA Atlantic Region Championships.

• Despite being the newest addition to the roster,
Dari Sakhanova has quickly established herself as one of SRU's top performers as evidenced by her 5-2 record at No. 3 singles.

Teddi Isherwood (2-8) and
Georgie Lancaster round out Slippery Rock's standard singles lineup from the fifth and sixth flights, respectively. Isherwood has compiled a career record of 24-14 (.632) in under two seasons at The Rock while Lancaster is 3-3 in her last six matches.

• Slippery Rock's primary three doubles teams of Gonzalez Sanchez/Isherwood, Martin Lopez/del Val del Toro and Sakhanova/
Tina Slovak all boast a .500 or better winning percentage.
