SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's soccer team fell, 3-0, on the road Wednesday at Shippensburg University.

The non-conference loss moves Slippery Rock's record to 1-2 overall while Shippensburg improves to 1-0 overall.

The Rock were led on offense by
Ramses Minaya with three total shots, two of which were on target, and
Arturo Pla Hernandis who placed one of his four shots goal. SRU goalkeeper
Hossam Aly finished the match with 12 saves over 90 minutes.

The Raiders offensive output was brought on by Seth Crabbe, who collected a hat trick, in addition to Harry Kershaw and Nathan Weldon who dished out one assist each.

Crabbe opened the scoring for the Raiders with a goal 26 minutes into the first half. The Slippery Rock defense was able to prevent any further scoring for the remainder of the opening 45 minutes, successfully defending six Shippensburg shots to enter halftime trailing 1-0.

However, coming out of the break Crabbe tacked on what would be the final two goals of the contest at 54:44 and 66:08. Both scores came from identical cross-goal shots placed in the low left corner out of the reach of Aly en route to a 3-0 Raiders win.

Shippensburg held advantages over The Rock in total shots (27-8), shots on goal (15-3) and corner kicks (8-2).

Slippery Rock returns to James Egli Field to start a three-game homestand 12 p.m. Saturday against Shepherd University.
